We could not do all we do without your support! Take a look at the following links for more ways to rock your Wildcat Pride! *Spirit Night - 2016 *Non-Event Fundraiser THE PTA NEEDS YOU! The Rocky Hill PTA is looking for a fabulous group of volunteers to continue the mission of the PTA. Members from our Executive Board are either moving on to High School or to the new Middle School. The following positions are needed for the Executive Board: · President (close working relationship w/ RHMS administration, help guide PTA committee chairs, conducts 5 PTA meetings per year w/ the VPs, liaison between students/parents/school, and community. In addition, the President work to support Wildcats Care and focuses on service to the community. ) · Vice President - Fundraising (organize Spirit Night, oversee the Color Fun Run committee, may create new ways of raising money to support the student’s at RHMS) · Treasurer (bookkeeping of income/expenses of the PTA, deposit money, disperses payment or reimbursement to PTA chairs) · Secretary (attend 5 PTA meetings a year to keep records of the minutes, renew the Bylaws This was just done so no need for another 3 years) New leadership is needed. Next year we will have approximately 1,100 students, certainly there are dads, moms or grandparents among us to serve on our Executive Board during the 2016 ~ 2017 school year. Members of the Executive Board are volunteers who do their best with the time they have available to give. Family and work commitments always come first. Prior PTA involvement is NOT required. With the help of our current Executive Board, incoming Board of Directors, and event chairs, an enthusiastic Executive Board can thrive at Rocky Hill! We are all busy ... if we wait to find a “non-busy” person to run for the Executive Board positions, we will wait ... forever! No candidate for PTA President and Treasurer will result in no Rocky Hill PTA in 2016 2017. According to MD PTA bylaws, a PTA needs to have a President and Treasurer to exist. Without these two positions, RHMS will not have a PTA in 2016-17. It does not matter how many committed volunteers there are to chair events and serve in other board positions. A President and a Treasurer are required for a PTA to exist. Without a PTA Rocky Hill will be such a different school for our children. Imagine... No family events (including the Color Fun Run, International Night, the Craft Vendor Boutique, Black History Month Celebration, and more)! No cultural arts assemblies for our children during the school day No 8th grade celebrations No Chess, FLES, STEM or M.O.R.E clubs No Student Directory No Spirit Gear No organization of parent volunteers. In addition, the PTA subsidizes many activities and clubs such as: 2015 – 2016 School Year Activity Amount Art $600.00 English $148.00 Media Center $1,200.00 Music Activities $900.00 Newspaper $1,500.00 Orchestra $200.00 Outdoor Ed $2,250.00 P.E. $1,200.00 Total $7,998.00 The time to volunteer is NOW ... If you wish to learn more, or nominate yourself, your spouse, grandparent, neighbor or friend, please email me. Alicia Wilson- [email protected]. It has been an honor to serve as your PTA President, and I am eager to share the “good news” of the Rocky Hill PTA with interested dads, moms or grandparents!
