You will be outside for
extended periods of times 2
– 4 hours at a time…better
to pack to much than not
have something. Plan on
dressing in layers. If you
forget something let us
know; we might have
extras. It gets cold up in the
mountains after the sun
goes down so dress
warmly!!
First & foremost,
check the weather
daily for Thurmont or
Emmitsburg, MD.
It’s constantly
changing!!
Last Minute Reminders….
We have a lot of students w/serious
food allergies. It is important for
their safety that you wash your hands
frequently and KEEP YOUR HANDS TO
YOURSELF!!!!!
Last Minute Reminders….
Cell Phones/Electronic Devices – NO!!
Medication – bring to Health Room – do not pack – unless it’s an inhaler or
EPI Pen. All medication should have been in last week!! Any meds must
be taken directly to the health room.
Be at RH between 9:00 – 9:30 am on your departure day – NO
SOONER – we will not leave until 10:00 am
Have a ride home on the day you arrive back at RH at 1:15 pm
What to bring:
Luggage
Sleeping bag & pillow
Lunch w/ a drink
Pencils/pens – carry with you and pack extras. Mechanical best
because there are not many pencil sharpeners around!
Last Minute Reminders….
Come to Rocky Hill prepared to be outside & hiking for
2 hours!! There is no access to your luggage once you
arrive at Rocky Hill. Wear long pants at all times while
outside. T-shirts are fine. Dress in layers! Shorts are
permitted in the cabins only! Wear hiking boots or sturdy tennis shoes.
Any special food – bring to Mrs. Quinn on your departure day labeled
with your name and the meal it is replacing.
Follow all school & camp rules – (including no gum!) You don’t want to be
sent home.
Packing list is on the RH website. See Mrs. Quinn if you don’t have
internet access for a hard copy. All students were given one in the
packet that parents received at the parent meeting.
Put you name on everything!! Guess how many RH sweatshirts there
are! The lost and found pile is huge afterwards!
Last Minute Reminders….
All students not at OE will follow their
normal schedule. Teachers will have posted
signs if there is a room/teacher change.
Be on your best behavior with any and all
subs/guest teachers!!!!!!!!!!
Some of you are anxious/nervous and that’s OK. We
expect it; you don’t know what to expect and middle
school is still so new. Trust your teachers!! We
have a great week planned for you!!
