Dear Westland Family,
As you may know, Westland Cares is a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) initiative that seeks to provide some additional
support to students and families in need. Westland Cares programs include:




Our Westland Market (with food and household
items);
Holiday House (with gift choices);
Holiday Gift Card program;
Scholarships to after-school FLEX programs;



Free tickets and assistance with transportation to
events such as Skate Night and the ColorSplash;
Coupons for books at the Spring Book Fair; and
Access to the summer reading book through library
donations.
From time to time information about Westland Cares will be distributed through typical channels (listserve, weekly calls,
flyers, etc.)
For those interested in receiving additional information about Westland Cares directly from the PTA, we would like to create
a special distribution list. We know that there are many members of the Westland community who both benefit from and
would like to support these initiatives so the PTA would like to have the ability to communicate with those individuals
directly.
If you would like to receive information about Westland Cares directly from the PTA please provide your contact
information below. You do not need to provide your contact information in order to receive assistance from Westland
Cares, Westland Middle School, or MCPS, but we think that Westland Cares might be able to achieve its objectives more
effectively if the PTA could communicate directly with the families that it seeks to support. Your decision to opt-in to receive
PTA communications relating to Westland Cares initiatives is strictly voluntary and if you choose not to opt-in you will not
be adversely affected in any way. You will still be able to receive Westland Cares information through the other
communication methods mentioned above.
Regardless of whether you decide to receive Westland Cares communications directly from the PTA, we welcome any
suggestions that you might have regarding how Westland Cares can better meet the needs of Westland students and
families.

Como ustedes saben, “Westland Cares” es una iniciativa de la Asociación de Padres y Profesores de Westland Middle School (PTA) que
busca proveer ayuda adicional para los estudiantes y familias necesitadas. El programa incluye:




El mercado de Westland (ofrece alimentos y artículos
de limpieza);
La tienda para las fiestas de invierno (ofrece
diferentes regalos);
El programa de la tarjeta de regalo;
Becas para el programa “Flex” después de la escuela;
