Dear Scholarship Applicant:
Thank you for contacting Delegate Kirill Reznik regarding his Delegate Scholarship. In order to apply, you must be a
resident of Maryland’s 39th Legislative District. To confirm your district eligibility visit www.mdelect.net and type in
your home address.
To be considered for a scholarship, you must include ALL of the following:
 The attached scholarship application
 Unofficial transcript from the school you currently attend
 Your resume
 Essay- No more than two (2) pages double-spaced, your essay should describe what you hope to study/currently
studying in college, what career you hope to pursue, and/or why a college education is important to you.
You must submit your completed application TO YOUR COLLEGE CAREER INFORMATION CENTER no later than
April 15, 2016. To ensure that you will be considered for a Delegate Scholarship, you must file the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 31, 2016.
Current High School Seniors:
All District 39 high school students are eligible for the Delegate Scholarship. Those students attending the following high
schools in District 39 are encouraged to apply:
Gaithersburg HS
Northwest HS
Seneca Valley HS
Clarksburg HS
Magruder HS
Quince Orchard HS
Watkins Mill HS
Current College Students:
Current college students from District 39 are only eligible to apply for the Delegate Scholarship if they are attending the
Universities at Shady Grove.
Use of the Scholarship
The Delegate Scholarship may be used for degree-seeking undergraduate students and must be used at a Maryland public
university or college, which includes community college. Both full- and part-time students are eligible to apply. Full-time
undergraduate students must maintain 12 credits or more per semester, while part-time undergraduate students must
maintain 6-11 credits. Full-time graduate students must maintain 9 or more credits per semester, while part-time graduate
students must maintain 6-8 credits per semester.
You may only use this scholarship at an out-of-state school if your major is not available at a Maryland school. The Office
of Financial Aid must identify your major as “unique.” To be considered for Unique Major Status, contact the Maryland
Higher Education Commission (www.mhec.state.md.us) for the requirements.
The Delegate Scholarship is for a single academic year. You must reapply for the scholarship each academic year, with
the understanding that funds may not be available for scholarship renewal. Please do not hesitate to contact me should
