Timberwolf News & Notes
John Poole Middle School
May 8, 2016
Principal’s Message
Good Evening Timberwolf Families!
It is hard to believe that we are in May already, and it is flying by! (Not to
mention that the weather does not feel like it is May!) We are truly in the
home stretch for the 15-16 school year with just over one month of school
(30 school days) left in the school year! During this last month of school
we have a great deal to accomplish and we will be working hard right up
until the last bell rings for the year on June 20th for our students.
Upcoming Dates:

5/10 – PTA Meeting (6:30 PM in
the Media Center)

5/13-14 – Drama Production–7:00
PM at Poolesville High School

5/17 – Green School Field Trip
Congratulations to our soccer teams. They wrapped up their season this
week and they each did an amazing job on the field, as well as
representing John Poole Middle School. We would also like to thank our
PTA and parents for the fantastic lunch and the goodies this week. This
past week was staff appreciation week and we were able to show our
amazing staff how much their hard work and dedication is appreciated.
This could not have been done without the generous efforts of our
parents!!!

5/18 – Interims Mailed / Posted

5/19 – Sea Perch Field Trip

5/20 – Friday Academic Success

5/21 – 8th Grade Dance

5-25 – Spring Concert–7:00 PM
This week coming up we start our PARCC testing. Please note that the
schedule appears in this week’s News and Notes, as it has for a couple of
weeks now. This week our 6th and 7th grade students will be testing on
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (see the actual times in the schedule).
Please encourage your children to get a good night’s rest, have a wellrounded breakfast each morning and put their best effort into these annual
tests. It is a great opportunity for our students to demonstrate what they
know!

5/26 – Reading Banquet–5:30 PM

5/30 – Holiday, No School
Have a great weekend, I think it is supposed to warm up a bit, and we are
looking forward to another great week next week!
Respectfully,
Mr. Robert Sinclair Jr, Principal

Leader of the Pack
At JPMS, we focus every day on helping our students to be as successful as possible, both academically and
personally. Part of that focus is instilling the core values of Timberwolf PRIDE: Purpose, Respect, Integrity,
Dedication and Effort, because we believe these qualities will support all students being the successful learners
they want to be today and becoming the positive, contributing members of our community they can be all their
lives.
Each month, the staff recognizes five students in each grade who are leaders and role models because they
routinely demonstrate the components of Timberwolf PRIDE. We celebrate them at a ceremony on the first
Friday of each month where they receive a certificate and are served a breakfast treat. Their pictures are proudly
posted on a bulletin board in the front hall during the month in which they are being honored. Congratulations to
our March and April winners!
