What? PBSS 2.0 is a hybrid summer school
op on (Hybrid = tradi onal face to face and
online instruc on).

Perhaps you need to repeat a course to gain
credit, or you want to improve your GPA*—or
get ahead for next semester…PBSS 2.0 can
work for you!
How? PBSS 2.0 classes will meet twice a week for 4 hours of in‐class instruc on. Any
student needing a device will be provided a chrome book. Requirement: you and your
parent must have a working email address, students must have access to WIFI. (A list of
community loca ons with free WIFI will be provided.)
When? PBSS 2.0 classes will meet either
M/W or T/Th from 9:00‐1:00pm. Each
session is three weeks; all other work is
completed online, when it is most con‐
venient for you to complete your work.
Expecta ons: PBSS 2.0 is a “NO FAIL”
op on. We EXPECT you to be successful
and will provide you with ongoing support
in order to complete each course. Only
students who are fully commi ed will be
permi ed to register.
Cost: Each 0.5 credit course is $300.
Depending on verifica on of total house‐
hold income, payment reduc on may be
available to students through tui on
waivers ($85 or $120). Limited seats are
available for this program. (max: 28 per
sec on)
PBSS 2.0 Benefits:
 Ability to take two classes per ses‐
sion—Monday/Wednesday and Tues‐
day/Thursday
 You can earn up to 2.0 credits this
summer—get back on track, move
ahead, or improve your GPA * per
MCPS policy, it must be the same exact
course.
 Ongoing access to teachers and
support in order to be successful
 Limited face me—flexible work me!

All Session A classes meet from 9‐1 pm. Session
B classes will meet from 12:30‐4:30 pm during
week 1, then from 9am‐1pm weeks 2 & 3.
A endance to all classes is mandatory.

FRESHMAN 101
In an effort to provide incoming Panthers with a jump start on high school, PB is proud to offer two freshman
101 summer academies. The goal is to ease the transi on from middle school and set the class of 2020 up for
success from day one. Included in the four day sessions:
 Meet other incoming students
 Par cipate in team building
 Meet many members of the PB staff—teachers, administrators, counselors, coaches
 Learn to navigate the building
 Learn to access resources
 Complete summer English and math assignments
 Learn about me management
 Learn organiza on & study skills for
high school
 And much more…
AP—ADVANCED PLACEMENT
SKILLS ENRICHMENT WORKSHOP
This workshop is designed for students grades 10 –12 who
will be new to AP in the fall of 2016 or students who would
like to improve their performance in AP courses. Students
will learn me management, stress management, study
skills, how to write in an AP course, and how to read for an
AP course in order to be successful.
Each 4 day session meets from 9 am—12:30 pm for the cost
of $120.00. Limited seats are available for this program.
