Woolly Mammoth Found in Antarctica!
Epilepsy Association of New Zealand has just found the whereabouts of their Purple Mammoth who
snuck away to spend Purple Day in Antarctica.
Graeme Ambler, CEO of Epilepsy Association of New Zealand says, “It’s amazing that our Purple
Mammoth took Purple Day celebrations to Antarctica. This means that Purple Day raising epilepsy
awareness has been truly been celebrated globally this year”.
A big thanks goes to Antarctica New Zealand who is the government agency charged with carrying
out New Zealand's activities in Antarctica supporting world leading science and environmental
protection who arranged the trip for Purple Mammoth. Winter Leader Rose Forrester even took
him for a walk in -30 degree Celsius temperatures around the local sites!
Check out the snaps of him with the Scott Base crew exploring his way around Antarctica:

Jeanine Foster - General Manager, Communications says “We enjoyed having Purple Mammoth
spend some time with the winter team at Scott Base - he has been exposed to the harsh Antarctica
environment, and now understands more about why this place is so special. We hope his efforts
have helped raise awareness for Epilepsy.”
Epilepsy Association of New Zealand wishes Antarctica New Zealand all the best in their efforts over
the winter season and are proud to have spread awareness to the furthest reaches this Purple Day.
Yours faithfully,
Graeme Ambler
