A British film crew attempts to boost morale during World
War II by making a propaganda film after the Blitzkrieg.
Stars Gemma Arterton, Sam Claflin, Bill Nighy and Jeremy
Irons. | The year is 1940, London. With the nation bowed
down by war, the British ministry turns to propaganda
films to boost morale at home. Realizing their films could
use “a woman’s touch,” the ministry hires Catrin Cole
(Arterton) as a scriptwriter in charge of writing the female dialogue. As bombs
are dropping all around them, Catrin, Buckley and their crew work furiously to
make a film that will warm the hearts of the nation. Rating: R
Norman
(1hr, 57min)
Richard Gere stars as a small time operator who befriends
a young politician who later becomes an influential world
leader with unexpected results for his friend. Also stars
Steve Buscemi and Michael Sheen. | Persistent wheelerdealer Norman falls in with an Israeli politician (Lior
Ashkenazi) on the rise. When the politician is elected
prime minister, Norman rises in esteem with the New
York Jewish community, even though his social connections might only be a
sham. Rating: R
The Dinner
(2hrs) | When Stan Lohman (Richard Gere),
a popular congressman invites his troubled younger brother Paul
(Steve Coogan) and his wife Claire (Laura Linney) to join him and
his wife Katelyn (Rebecca Hall) for dinner at one of the town’s
most fashionable restaurants, the stage is set for a tense night.
While Stan and Paul have been estranged since childhood,
their 16-year-old sons are friends, and the two of them have
committed a horrible crime that has shocked the country. While
their sons’ identities have not yet been discovered and may never be, their parents
must now decide what action to take. As the night proceeds, each person reveals
just how far they are willing to go to protect those they love. Rating: R
Personal Shopper

An ethereal and mysterious ghost story starring
Kristen Stewart as a high-fashion personal
shopper to the stars who is also a spiritual
medium. Grieving the recent death of her twin
brother, she haunts his Paris home, determined to make contact with him. |
Olivier Assayas, the internationally-acclaimed director of Clouds of Sils Maria
and Summer Hours, returns with this ethereal and mysterious ghost story.

overnight when, in 1975, he was chosen to take on The
Greatest in a highly publicized title match. It’s the beginning

The Wedding Plan

When her fiancé bows out on the eve of her wedding,
Michal refuses to cancel the wedding arrangements. An
Orthodox Jew, she insists that God will supply her a husband.
At 32, Michal (Noa Kooler), is finally looking forward to the
comfort and security of marriage, when she is blindsided by
her fiancé’s decision to call off the wedding with only a
month’s notice. Unwilling to return to lonely single life,
Michal decides to put her trust in fate and continue with her wedding plans,
believing Mr. Right will appear by her chosen date. Rating: PG
Lost City of Z

Based on author David Grann’s nonfiction best seller
about the incredible story of British explorer Percy Fawcett
(Charlie Hunnam), who journeys into the Amazon at the
dawn of the 20th century in search of an ancient civilization.
Despite being ridiculed by the scientific establishment who
regard indigenous populations as “savages,” the determined
Fawcett — supported by his devoted wife, son and aide de
camp returns time and again to his beloved jungle in an attempt to prove his case,
culminating in his mysterious disappearance in 1925. Rating: PG-13
Trainspotting 2

After 20 years abroad, Mark Renton returns to Scotland and
reunites with his old friends Sick Boy, Spud, and Begbie.
Stars Robert Carlyle, Ewan McGregor, Kelly MacDonald and
Jonny Lee Miller. | First there was an opportunity…then
there was a betrayal. Much has changed but just as much
remains the same. Old friends are waiting for him but
other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy,
vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, selfdestruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to

Graduation

Acclaimed filmmaker Cristian Mungiu returns with this
searing human saga about a father driven to extremes in
order to protect his daughter’s future. | Romeo Aldea
(Adrian Titieni) is a seemingly honest doctor who regrets
having settled in his native Romania, a country still
teeming with corruption and back dealings. He channels
his ambitions for a better life into his teenage daughter,
Eliza (Maria Dragus), who’s just one exam away from securing a scholarship to a
prestigious British university. Winner of the Best Director prize at Cannes Film
Festival. Rating: R
Cezanne and I
(1hr, 57min) | An historical drama
about the lifelong friendship between two renowned 19th
century French artists — painter Paul Cézanne (Guillaume
Gallienne) and writer Emile Zola (Guillaume Canet) — from
their first meeting as schoolmates to their creative rivalry as
fame and success continue to elude Cézanne. | Set between
the year 1888, when a nearly 50-year-old Cezanne confronts
Zola about his novel L’Oeuvre (whose main character — an
ambitious but failed painter — struck way too close to home for the artist), and a slew
of flashbacks recalling how the pair became school pals in Aix-en-Provence and grew
up to share a mutual love of art and beautiful women. Rating: R
My Cousin Rachel
A sumptuous 19th century costume drama about a young
Englishman who plots revenge against his mysterious,
beautiful cousin, believing that she murdered his
guardian. All-star cast includes Rachel Weisz, Sam
Claflin, Holliday Grainger and Ian Glen. | The basis of
the novel is the tension set up in its young protagonist
when Philip falls in love with his cousin, while
uncovering, and trying to deny, evidence that she is pretending to care for
him while she has only her own interests at heart. Rating: PG-13
Paris Can Wait
(1hr, 32min)
Anne (Dianne Lane) is at a crossroads in her life. Long
married to a successful, driven but inattentive movie
producer (Alec Baldwin), she unexpectedly finds herself
taking a car trip from Cannes to Paris with a business
associate of her husband. | What should be a seven-hour
drive turns into a carefree two-day adventure replete
with diversions involving picturesque sights, fine food
and wine, humor, wisdom and romance, reawakening Anne’s senses and
giving her a new lust for life. Rating: PG
