Issue No 17 2016-17 - New Mills Primary School

New Mills Primary School
No. 17
Friday 31 March 2017
Dear Parents and Carers,
Today is the last day for you to hand in your parent questionnaires. This year we have given you a number of different options for how to
share your views with us; we will look carefully at the most used options to make decisions around how to do this again next year.
Governors will now be looking at your responses, compiling an analysis and reporting back to you shortly. In previous years we have made
significant changes to school procedures and policies following feedback from parents. Thank you to all parents for taking part.
C Whetstone - Head teacher
The next newsletter will be on Friday 28 April
Jack and the Beanstalk!!
Preparations and practice are under way!
The Y3/4 children will be performing their version of Jack and the
Beanstalk to parents and friends on Wednesday at 2.00 and 6.00….
please note the earlier evening performance time. Everyone in
school will see the dress rehearsal on Tuesday.
There will be a raffle to raise money for school funds.
Please remember to bring your tickets with you…our school Hall
cannot hold more than 120 for a seated event and we want to make
sure that all families are able to come.
Reminder: please do not post any photos of other children on any

Chess Volunteers
Mr Jones is our wonderful chess volunteer. He has taught nearly
all our KS2 pupils to play and many have gone onto to be great
enthusiasts. He is looking to recruit another volunteer to help
him out! If you are interested in volunteering, please let us
know. Mr Jones is happy to pass on some of his skills.
Thank you for taking part and thank you to Helen and the kitchen
staff for organising the competition; the display looks great too!
Y1 Trip to Chester Zoo
We went to Chester Zoo and we saw lots of different animals. We
loved going on the coach. We liked the rhinos and the cheetahs. The
bat house was very spooky! We enjoyed having a picnic in the café.
By the end of the day we were all tired.

High Fives Netball
Five schools from High Peak took part in a tournament this week.
