Wide range two-way loudspeaker system with low-loss passive crossover
fitted with overload protection. Comprises a 12” woofer for low and mid
frequencies with a 2.5” aluminium voice coil and compression driver with
1.75” dural diaphragm and 1” throat for the high frequencies loaded by a
short rotatable controlled-directivity wide dispersion horn. The enclosure
can also be used with passive biamping for lower HF section distortion at
high sound levels. The low frequencies have phase inversion/tuned chamber
loading. Directivity is uniform for the majority of the audio range, with
average dispersion of 95° H x 105° V in the speech band (500Hz ÷ 4000Hz)
and average wide range coverage very uniform, 90° H x 100° V from 500Hz
to 10kHz. The useable band frequency at – 10 dB goes from 66Hz to 16.5kHz.
Measured on axis, according to AES standards, the frequency response of
the complete system is within +/-3dB from 83Hz to 16kHz. The system hung
In full space, according to AES standards, and driven with 1W at rated
impedance via the built-in passive crossover, has a high average wide band
sensitivity, produces 100dBSPL at 1m and can generate a maximum peak
sound pressure of 129dBSPL in the same acoustic conditions, powered at
maximum peak power (800 Watts), whereas at minimum impedance (6.3
Ohms) is able to handle 200 Watts (continuous) AES. Standing the system on
the floor in 2π configuration, LF section values will rise by 3dBSPL with the
same driving power, reaching 103dBSPL 1W/1m and 132dBSPL peak at full
power at 1m. With passive biamping, i.e. driving the low/mid and high
frequency sections separately, they maintain or exceed the performance
achieved when the enclosure is powered by just one amplifier, including the
value of the maximum power handled. The cabinet is trapezoidal and built
in 15mm high quality Baltic birch plywood, strengthened by suitable internal
bracing to eliminate the resonance of the cabinet’s larger sides. The external
dimensions are very compact, particularly with reference to the unit’s
remarkable performance. The black outer finish is in high quality scratchresistant paint. The connectors are two Neutrik Speakon NL4 with their
contacts linked to facilitate the powering of two enclosures in parallel.
Contacts 1+ and 1- are for the low/mid section, whereas 2+ and 2- are for
the high frequencies. The cabinet has 14 threaded hanging points with a
diameter of 8mm (M8) to facilitate vertical and horizontal flying by means
of appropriate (optional) accessories. On the underside of the cabinet,
there’s a socket in die-cast aluminium for fitting an optional tripod stand;
two practical recessed handles in the side panels of the cabinet are used
for a positive grip during transport. The front grille is in vibration-free
aluminium mesh mounted on a wooden frame and covered with special
acoustically transparent foam. The enclosure’s market name is OMNIA PLUS.
