HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
ACUTE EFFECTS :
Swallowed: Not hazardous when ingested in small quantities. May cause irritation to the
mouth and oesophagus.
Eye:
May cause mild transitory irritation.
Skin:
Not hazardous.
Inhaled:
Over exposure to this fine spray mist, without a mask, may cause transitory
irritation of the upper respiratory tract.
CHRONIC EFFECTS : Prolonged exposure may cause mild eye and skin irritation in
some susceptible persons. Prolonged exposure to the airborne dust may
also cause pulmonary effects.
FIRST AID:
Swallowed: Give a glass of water and then give plenty of water to drink. If irritation
develops and persists seek medical attention.
Eye:
Hold eyes open, flood with clean water. If irritation occurs and persists, see a
doctor.
Skin:
Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water.
Inhaled:
Remove to fresh air. Drink a glass of water to clear throat . If irritation
occurs, see a doctor.
ADVICE TO DOCTOR: Abrade contains amorphous non-crystalline silica. The hazard
from this product is possible fine tissue abrasion. Treat symptomatically.
Pre-existing upper respiratory and lung conditions, such as bronchitis,
asthma and emphysema, may be aggravated by exposure to the spray mist.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
EXPOSURE STANDARDS:
Time Weighted Average Value (TWA) : 10 mg/m3 (inspirable fraction).
ENGINEERING STANDARDS:
Use with sufficient natural or mechanical ventilation to ensure dust levels are below TWA

PERSONAL PROTECTION :
Use goggles and dust mask (as described in AS 1715 & 1716) where exposure to airborne
dust is unavoidable.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT
Not defined as a Dangerous Good by the Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous
Goods by Road and Rail. Store apart from animal and human foodstuffs, herbicides and
pesticides. Store in original container in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
SPILLS AND DISPOSAL
Contain spill. Vacuum or sweep into suitable containers for disposal or reclamation. Wash
residues onto absorbent ground or soil.
