FEAR
…a distressing emotion aroused by
impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether
the threat is real or imagined; the feeling
or condition of being afraid.
Synonyms: foreboding, apprehension,
consternation, dismay, dread, terror, fright,
panic, horror, trepidation, qualm.
Antonyms: courage, security, calm,
intrepidity.
• Fear is one of the greatest enemies of
your vision.
• Notice that man’s first response to
God after he fell was “I was afraid.”
• Fear has a paralyzing effect.
• Fear has a way of trapping one’s mind
and restricting their forward thinking.
• Fear trapped Adam and Eve. It was not
until God called them that they were
able to come forth.
• When we act out of fear our faith is
ineffective.
• Notice that the fear of the Israelites was
a result of what they had focused on.
• Notice that what they said out of fear
was in direct opposition of God’s
purpose.
• Notice God’s reply, “Fear not.” Do not
respond out of your fear; refocus your
eyes on the salvation of the Lord.
• Do not speak anymore out of your fear.
• It is important to wait, refocus, and
speak out of your faith.
