Feeling broke post-holiday?

January 2017
A NOTE FROM THE CEO
At Mainstreet, we know you and all of
our members want the best member
service experience possible. Your
standards are high, and they should be
–after all, you own the place. That’s why
we are so proud of our 96.9% member
satisfaction rating in our most recent
member survey.*
Feeling broke post-holiday?
A debt consolidation loan from Mainstreet can help you
piece together a financial plan for the New Year.
Low rates and fees will keep payments within any budget.
Online payment or auto pay make keeping track of payments easy and quick.
Our Debt Consolidation Calculator under Loan Calculators in our Resources menu at
mainstreecu.org can help you choose the right amount. Apply online 24/7, by calling
913.599.1010, or by visiting your nearest branch.
Chip cards cut down on fraud.
Members should still be vigilant online.
Mainstreet’s transition to chip-enabled credit and debit cards significantly decreased
fraud for members at the register, but what about online?
According to a study done by MasterCard®, 77% of consumers are worried about the
security of online transactions. You have options to keep you safer.
Mainstreet offers Bill Payer, free to members, via OnlineAccess or consider one of
these services.
Paypal: Establish a Paypal account and link it to your checking account, credit or debit
card. When shopping or paying bills online, enter your Paypal information. Merchants
won’t have direct access to your financial or personal data.
In order to keep pace with your needs
and expectations, Mainstreet needs to
grow with you. This past year, you may
have seen new faces in our branches and
heard new voices in our call center as we
added, promoted, and repositioned staff
to better serve you and our membership.
Change can be exciting because it
brings new opportunities, but I know
it can also be confusing – especially if
you no longer see your favorite Teller or
Member Service Representative at your
branch. That is why we’ve dedicated a
part of this newsletter to sharing the
details of our recent growth and changes
on Page 2.
As we enter 2017, all of us at Mainstreet
will continue to hold our member
service standards high. We will strive to
offer products and services that meet
your lending and savings needs. And,
we will work to help you make the
smartest financial choices for you and
your family. As your credit union, we take
the philosophy of People Helping People
very seriously – it’s at the core of what
we do, every single day.
Google Checkout: Use this site to store credit card numbers and shipping addresses for
easier checkout.
Happy New Year to you and yours,
John D. Beverlin
President/CEO
Bill Me Later: This site works on a pay later system. If you don’t have the cash on hand.

Why work
with only one
financial advisor?
Many members believe it’s in their best
interest to work with more than one
Financial Advisor…that it increases
diversification. They’ve heard that they
shouldn’t “have all their eggs in one
basket”. This is a misunderstanding of
diversification, and there’s a saying that
sums it up:
“There’s a difference between
having all your eggs in one basket,
and having all your chickens on
one farm.”
Jon Montgomery, Branch Manager, relocation from Olathe Downtown to
Lenexa
You WANT all your chickens on one farm.
Amanda Oxley, MSR III/Loan Officer, relocation from Mission to Lenexa
Having multiple “farms” makes your job
Marty Peterson, Branch Manager, relocation from Lenexa to Mission
as the egg collector more complicated.
Rubi Sarabia, Teller II at Lawrence 23rd St. and the Merc to Teller III at Lenexa
You can have plenty of diversification
Alex Sharp, Teller III at Olathe Downtown to MSR II at Lenexa
with multiple baskets, while working
Lisa Swinney, Graphic/Digital Media Designer to Marketing and Business
with just one Advisor. Pick an Advisor and

Rebecca Williford, Staff Trainer to Training and Development Supervisor,
choose, but choose your Advisor well.
