 Fall sale starts Wednesday, September 24th  Orders due Wednesday, October 15th  Delivery on or before Friday, October 31st WHAT IS “SCRIP”? Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” such as a certificate to be exchanged for goods. For our program, Scrip means gift cards from national and local retailers. Hundreds of popular retailers participate in our Scrip program including Whole Foods, JC Penney, Babies R Us, The Gap, BP, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster, to name just a few! By ordering gift cards through the Scrip program, families pay and receive the face value on the cards they order, while the school receives a percentage (a “rebate”) on their purchase! It’s so easy to help raise money for the school by just ordering gift cards to stores where you already shop for groceries, clothes, gas, etc. PHYSICAL PRODUCTS: Our Scrip company refers to tangible plastic (sometimes paper) gift cards as “physical products” and the sale of these tangible cards is the focus of the fall, winter, spring, and end‐of‐year Scrip “Sales”. In fact the only times during the school year that you can order tangible cards is during these sales. VIRTUAL (ONLINE) PRODUCTS: Scrip also offers two “virtual” products that can be ordered as part of the sales or anytime year round! (1) ScripNow: Many Scrip retailers offer the ability to order cards online that get delivered to you electronically in minutes! Decide to go for a movie? Order AMC Theatre’s ScripNow before you leave the house and print at home! MAM receives 8% of the value you order! Big home improvement project this weekend? Order Home Depot ScripNow and MAM will receive 5%! (2) Reload: Once you’ve purchased a plastic card through the Scrip program, many Scrip retailers allow you to reload it online, and with every additional amount you add to the card, MAM continues to receive the rebate! Popular “reload” brands at MAM include Starbucks and Whole Foods. Important note: To order virtual products outside of the four sales, you need to set‐up a “PrestoPay” account – it’s easy! HOW TO ORDER: You can choose one of the following two ways to order: 1) Fill out and return the attached order form with a check payable to Maryland Avenue Montessori PTO in your child’s Wednesday folder, to the teacher, or to the Scrip folder in the school office; OR 2) Visit the website (www.shopwithscrip.com) and order online using MAM’s Scrip code: 4F11D8F219889. With online ordering, you have the option to either (1) pay with your debit card after registering your bank account information with “Presto Pay”, or (2) write a check payable to the PTO. In either case, please print out your order confirmation, indicate how you want your order delivered (backpack or pick‐up), and bring it/send it in to school. Note: Online ordering allows you to see the entire catalog of participating retailers – much larger than the sampling included in the attached order form.
