The Segment:

The marketplace is full of ‘’watch me’’ items that entertain but not educate.
These items engage children for a brief period only to never be played with
again. Worx Toys™ set out to address this issue by creating a compelling
educational experience grounded in traditional play that children can come
back to over and over again.

Worx Toys™ are a parent driven purchase, these parents are looking for
innovative, unique gift items with educational value but have few options that
offer both traditional playability and educational merit.

The educational space, dominated by Leapfrog and Vtech has moved almost
entirely into digital content, tablets and cartridge based systems. These
products range from $59-$139 with supporting cartridges upwards of $25

This landscape is competitive, not only may these products cannibalize each
other but they are also competing with real tablets and electronic devices at
home.
The Worx difference:

Digital is just one delivery mechanism for content. Kids are naturally inquisitive they want to know
about the world around them and often prefer hands on exploration to the digital experiences.

The subject of ‘How things work’ emulates many popular websites and television shows.
Worx Toys™ allow kids to explore and understand their favorite subject matter in entirely new ways.

Try to explain how a car engine works to a 5 year old. Worx Toys™ provides an interactive, visually
based learning tool that allows children to digest complex concepts such as how a car engine works in
a way that is fun and age appropriate.

Worx Toys™ unique positioning picks up where the competitors leave off, with a target age range and
reading comprehension 5-8 years old.

Worx Toys™ encourages parent child interaction not independent learning as with most digital
devices. The content becomes a springboard for discussion about the subject matter. This is what
keeps each Worx Toy out of the toy box and in the hands of the child.

Worx Toys™ use a unique shape code system as a tool for discovery and interaction. Kids love to
figure out codes then see what each codes can do. Not all the codes are revealed in the accompanied
story book, secret codes will be revealed in future books and digital downloads.

Worx Toys™ can be played with like regular toys, with features such as; remote control functionality,
real working components, opening doors, removable rims, and ‘Program mode’ where children can
use shape codes to program unique light sequences.
