CSM Robert A. Daniel Jr. Command Sergeant Major Daniel is a native of Concord, VA. He enlisted into the US Army on 23 September 1986. CSM Daniel’s military education includes, a graduate of the Warrior Leader Course, Augsburg, Germany, Advanced Leaders Course and Senior Leader Course, Fort Gordon, GA. He’s a graduate of the Drill Sergeant Course, Fort Jackson, SC; Recruiter Course, Fort Benjamin Harris, IN; and Masters Fitness Trainer Course. He attended the First Sergeant Course, Fort Bliss, TX, and the United States Sergeants Major Academy, Class 56, Fort Bliss, TX. CSM Daniel served as the Brigade Command Sergeant Major for 21st Signal Brigade from 3 August 2012-25 July 2014. And He served as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major for the 102nd Strategic Signal Battalion from April 2008-May 2012 in Wiesbaden, Germany. His other assignments included, wire system installer A Co, 9th Signal BN, 9th Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, WA. Other assignments included: Team Chief, B Co 26th Signal BN, Heilbronn, Germany; Detail Recruiter, Butler Recruiting Station, Butler, PA; Section Sergeant, A Co, 304th Signal BN, Camp Red Cloud Korea; Instructor Writer, 25L course, HQ’s/ A Co, 447th Signal BN, Fort Gordon, GA; Drill Sergeant and Senior Drill Sergeant F Co and C Co, 447th Signal BN, Fort Gordon, GA, Brigade Operation Sergeant, 15th Regimental Signal Brigade, Fort Gordon, GA. CSM Daniel served as the First Sergeant of B Co, 44th Signal Battalion, and HHC, 72nd Signal BN, 7th Signal Brigade. He’s been deployed to Iraq in support of OIF 07-09 and OIF 04-05. He also deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. CSM Daniel’s awards include: Legion Of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (2OLC); Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC) Army Commendation Medal(5OLC); Army Achievement Medal (6OLC); Good Conduct Medal (9th award); National Defense Medal; Korean Defense Service Medal; South-west Asia Service Medal (3 bronze stars); Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Iraqi Campaign Medal; NCO Professional Development Ribbon (4th device); Overseas Service Ribbon (5th device); Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal; Saudi Arabia Kuwait Liberation Medal; and Kuwait Liberation Medal. CSM Daniel has also been awarded the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Recruiter Badge, Drivers Badge. He is Recipient of the Bronze Order of Mercury. He holds a MBA from TUI University concentrating in Information Technology Management and he holds a Baccalaureate Degree in Electronic Management from Southern Illinois University. He is married to his lovely wife Cheryl of 26 years. They have two children, Tanita and Robert (Trae), and two grandchildren, Harmonie and Nevaeh.
