The Bundy babies
continue to be pumped
out! Congrats to Adam
and Kelly Cairns on the
safe arrival of Hamish
Charles, and Joel and
Stacey Powell on their
little girl Freya Elyse!
Issue 18  April 2014
Well done also to UK
player and former Bundy
boy Steve Parry who
made his international
debut for England in the
T20s. Steve had 2 seasons
at Bundy from 2005-07.
It may be the off-season
but work has been taking
place at the club, with two
new Merry Creek wickets
being installed on the main
ground. It will now give
the main oval 6 playing
wickets.
Bad luck to the U14’s who
were defeated in their
Grand Final against a
powerful College line-up.
The kids put in a spirited
performance and can keep
their little heads high!

against Maffra.
Season 2013/14 ended on a
terrific note for the club with
both the Third XI and Fourth
XI teams winning premierships!
It was a great reward for the
Third XI who had played without
luck for the past 4-5 years.
The boys were definitely the
best team for the season and
thoroughly deserved their win.
Chasing 158 for victory in the
Grand Final against College, they
coasted to victory only 2 down,
with Nath Proctor 97 and
Dave Braithwaite 47 getting
the job done easily.
The Fourth XI come from the
bottom of the ladder, winning
7 of their last 8 games to
sneak into the top four. The
momentum carried through to
the finals, with the boys playing
great cricket to pinch a flag.
Maffra batted first in the big
dance and posted 130. As with
the Thirds, the total was an
easy chase - with the boys only
4 down when the winning runs
were hit. Chris Smart Man of
the Match with 50* and 2/13.
Bundy also took out the Jack
Abel ‘Best Club’ Award for the
fourth time in five years, to cap
off another great season.
Unfortunately, our much
celebrated First XI missed the
finals for the first time since
08/09 - which was a great
disappointment for the club. The
Second XI also came up short,
finishing 6th.
With a good senior group and
some promising kids coming
through next season is looking
good. Bring it on!

The BundyNews decided to take a look
at Eddie Bushell’s famous lawn pizza
that inspired our club to win two flags
this season.
Enough space
left to ensure
none of the
barf gets on his
whites, great
work Ed!
Both hands
resting on pads,
great technique
for a heave!
The ralph was delivered
from a height of approx.
1000mm, and a perfect
90o from the ground,
which is textbook.

Thanks...
One of the most important
roles at our club is the coaching
and supervision of our juniors.

Grant and Kev Cycle for Jem
Terrific effort from Bundy boys Grant Murray and Kev Read who took part in the recent Little
Jem Foundation bike ride from Sydney to Newry. The ride raised money to assist families who
experience the sudden loss of a baby or child. It was a great effort from the boys for a great cause well done fellas! To find out more visit www.littlejem.org.au
