The law to eliminate mandatory retirement came into effect in Ontario in 2006. Congratulations! Employers may wonder: Will this person want to retire soon, can they physically do the job, how technologically skilled is the worker, and can the worker take direction from a younger supervisor? If you are wondering if age is playing a factor in your job search, you may want to consider ensuring that your resume is focused on your skills and not on dates, highlight your technological skills, and ensure that you are clearly indicating your willingness to be a long term employee. Before you make any changes talk to an Employment Advisor to get a second opinion.
