School Uniform Can we take this opportunity to remind all parents of the expected school uniform from September 2016. Children will not be allowed into lessons if they do not conform to the standards stated below. We are very proud of our uniform and expect all our students to wear it with pride and feel a sense of belonging to our community. For boys: • School blazer • White plain shirt and school clip-on tie • White polo shirt with school logo (term 6 only) • Grey v-necked jumper (Winter months only) • Black trousers • Black leather shoes, these should be plain with no visible logo or motif. Boots and trainer type shoes are not to be worn, most acceptable school shoes will have a distinctive heel. Please contact school if in doubt before purchasing. • Scarves (winter months only) Suitable Unsuitable For girls: • School blazer • White plain shirt and school clip-on tie • White polo shirt with school logo (term 6 only) • Grey v-necked jumper (Winter months only) • Black skirt - (it must be a dropped-waisted pleated skirt – see picture) - only the standard school skirt will be allowed. • Plain white, grey or black socks or tights, socks worn to knee only • Black trousers of a smart tailored fit – (see pictures above) - Jeans and leggings are not allowed. • Black leather flat heeled shoes should be worn, these should be plain with no visible logo or motif. Boots, sandals and trainers are not to be worn. • Scarves (winter months only) For both girls and boys: • Outdoor coats; coats with designer/advertising logos on the back are not allowed. Denim, leather and football coats will also not be allowed. One close-fitting ring may be worn on one hand. Students may wear a small cross and chain under the shirt and may wear a watch. Students may also wear one bangle/bracelet that must be of a religious/charity nature. Students must not have visible body piercings, including stretchers and tattoos. All articles of jewellery must be removed for PE and when working in the design area. Hair; Students hair should be no shorter than number 2, and must not cover the face. Shaved sections are not allowed. Hair colour should be natural and natural looking highlights will be permitted. There must be no tram lines or patterns cut into the hair and no excessive gel styling. A plain narrow headband or bobble may be worn. Flowers, bright bold hair clips and other hair fashion are not allowed. Long hair should be tied back for PE and practical subjects. Shaved eyebrows are not allowed. • Make-up; Students may wear light foundation and light mascara. Eye liner, eye shadow, blusher, lipstick, coloured lip balm and nail varnish are not permitted. Gel nails and false nails are not allowed. • The Headteacher is the sole arbiter in all matters relating to the school uniform and personal appearance.
