TCCU held our 62nd Annual Meeting on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016 at the ARL of Des Moines.
Approximately 60 members, along with TCCU
staff and the Board of Directors, honored two
retiring Board members; Rick Davis (31 years of
service) and Karen Gilbert (29 years of service) for
their dedication in building the foundation of a
successful member focused financial institution.
We thank them for their years of service and wish
them all the best. Members also elected 2 new
board members, Mike Wade and Kris Stubbs, to
our credit union team.

You betcha. When it comes to keeping your personal and financial information
safe, it is important to be proactive. Monitoring your account frequently with
online banking or using our mobile app is very important. When using ATM’s or card terminals be
sure to thoroughly check them out to ensure there are no devices designed to capture or steal your
card number and personal identification number (PIN). Cover the keypad with your free hand while
entering your PIN to shield it from hidden cameras. NEVER let anyone use your card or give out your
PIN. Never give out your personal information over the phone or via email. If an employee from
TCCU must contact you, we will do so via phone or mailed letter. We never ask for full card numbers
or full SSN’s. Remember to ALWAYS keep your contact info up to date with TCCU. Unfortunately fraud
happens. However, following these steps will help in preventing and minimizing any possible fraud.

Millenials and Money
Summer 2016__
TCCU Credit Cards
The influence of parents on Millennials (people ages
18-34) is very significant; nearly two-thirds of millennials
attribute their parents as their main source of financial
information. Millennials and younger generations
look to their older family members for support
and base many decisions on the family members’
experiences. Teaching smart financial habits may save
your child from financial hardships in the future.
If you peel back the details on your credit card does it
measure up to ours? TCCU offers FIXED LOW RATE credit
cards with no annual fees and no hidden transaction
fees. Can you say the same about the others in your
wallet? Apply online at www.tradesmenccu.org.
Providing financial education is the key! Waiting till your
child is in their teens or have their first job is no longer
effective in money management skills. It is best to begin
talking to children about financial planning much earlier
than previous generations. Younger generations have
more temptations to spend now via internet, online
shopping, and mobile apps than any generation prior.
Financial education is very critical in ensuring your
children are saving for the future instead of spending.
This is where TCCU can be a valuable resource for
your family. If you or a family member has financial
questions or would like some basic financial plan
talking points, feel free to contact us. Our years of
financial experience can benefit your entire family.
Just contact one of our experienced staff members
and we would gladly help you with our expertise.
