It’s Bridging Time!
Bridging is an important transition in a Girl Scout’s life. It is a defining moment
when a girl becomes aware of her achievements and is ready for new
adventures and responsibilities. These ceremonies mark a girl’s move from one
level of Girl Scouting to another.
Many of you are planning your troop’s “Bridging” ceremonies. Celebrating this
change should be fun, personalized and memorable for everyone involved. And
most of all, it should be designed by the girls in true partnership with you, their
leader.
“Bridging” fun patches, like the one pictured, go on back of uniforms & are available in the store for $1.50 ea.

Did you know we have Bridging Certificates for your ceremonies?
This certificate was specially designed for bridging from one age level to
another. It adds a ceremonial touch when handed to each Girl Scout as
she flies up. The certificate features the official gs shorthand watermark. This
8” X 10”certificate can be mounted in a standard frame too.
The stores sells them both in packs of 12 for $9- or single for $0.75 ea.

It’s a celebration!
As you are planning your end of year parties or Bridging ceremonies, you may find that one of these items
could add to your Girl Scout occasion. Trefoil shaped cupcake molds, cake molds, and cookie cutters are great
for baking yummy sweets for all those that attend. Also there is trefoil shaped confetti that could be sprinkled
in party bags with Girl Scout ribbon for tying the party bag up with a bow. These items are found in all are

NEW or BRIDGING? A Starter Kit is the way to go!
If she is new or bridging to her next Girl Scout level, we’ve
eliminated the guess work & included The Girl’s Guide to Girl
Scouting, the GSGLA Council Fun Patch, American Flag Patch,
Insignia Tab, World Trefoil Pin Council ID Set, and Membership
Pin. Girls just need to choose an official uniform item (sash, vest
or tunic), & journey book to get the NEW bag for free ($14
value) & then she’s ready to go!
She has a choice of a pink or black bag too. 
IMPORTANT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
Girl Scouts “Made in the USA” Commitment
Girl Scout Merchandise continues to honor its commitment to U.S.-made
products and to strive to keep its carbon footprint as small as possible. Girl
Scout vests, sashes, tunics, and insignia are all currently produced in this
country, and we are reaching out to more vendors that have capabilities to
produce stateside. In addition, beginning in July, Daisy, Brownie, Junior,
and Cadette badge production will take place in the United States. The
fabric, thread, iron-on backing, and packaging are all produced in America. The USA made product will be
available to start shipping in July 2017 to council stores.
In order to offer the USA made product there will be a price increase on all Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette,
Senior and Ambassador earned badges. Effective July 1st 2017, the NEW retail price will be $3- each. Also the
Daisy Petal Set price will increase from $8.50 to $9.50. FYI…The Journey Awards prices will remain the same.
SUGGESTION:
If you are planning your next Girl Scout year and you know what badges your troop will be earning, you may
want to buy them by June 30th to get the lower retail price. All of them are available in our GSGLA stores or
online.
