TELEPHONE/CELL PHONE REQUESTS

TELEPHONE/CELL PHONE REQUESTS
ALL telephone requests (including cell phones and MiFi devices) must go through the help desk
at [email protected] via the department Admin Assistant, this includes but is not limited to
new phone requests, changes to phones, and voicemail password resets. Please include the
phone number, users name and request details: i.e. new phone, specific issue with existing
phone, etc. This is our way of keeping track of them and ensuring they are taken care of in a
timely manner without getting “lost in the shuffle” as can sometimes happen with requests
sent to an individual. Please keep all phone/voicemail requests separate from any
computer/software/equipment move requests as the phone requests are done by the Telecom
Specialist and the computer related requests are done by the Network Technicians. If you have
employees move for any reason please be sure to put in a work order to reprogram their old
phone whether with a new person or as “vacant”. If you no longer need a phone, please
return it to Melinda Allington so the number and phone can be re-used. When vacating an
offsite location (such as a school site) please remember to put in a request to disconnect any
phone/fax lines for that site.
4-digit dialing should be used when calling any phone within our VOIP phone system. This
includes everyone with a 238 prefix, Special Ed, and Maintenance on Stonum Road with a 541
prefix. 4-digit dialing does not incur any telephone line costs as it is an “internal” call whereas
7-digit dialing does because it is an “external” call.
If you need help with your phone or setting up your voicemail you can click on the links below
or check with the Administrative Assistant for your department.
Headsets for desk phones are ordered through your designated buyer.
Existing cell phones needing to go to a new employee must be given to Melinda Allington
either via inter-office, route mail, or dropping it off at 1100 H Street, 2nd Floor Business
Services in order to reprogram the user and have the new user sign for it.
