Heavy Metals
Ladies and Gentlemen
Eventually, the sun will be shining longer and stronger again – which
all of us will be happy about. We will get up in bright daylight, and when
most people return home from work, the sun will still be shining. This is
indeed motivating, enjoyable and stimulates our vigor!
And it is at this beautiful time that I will describe and elucidate on heavy
metals.
Many people actually believe to be well-informed on this topic.
But are they really?
Many of us, and I’m not only talking about patients but also about
physicians, are rather unsure and ask “what is actually the problem
about heavy metals?”.
Biological medicine and dentistry have long been engaged in this
issue, and the respective physicians are facing numerous diseases
caused or influenced by heavy metals. The problem is that only those
physicians, following a biological and holistic approach, will find clear
correlations, while many others will not.
In traditional dentistry, it is even more difficult for these correlations to
be evident: it is not only that most dentists are not at all aware of the
problem, but that they still use heavy metals for dental restoration.
In this edition of our newsletter, we will inform you of some aspects
related to heavy metals. Maybe after reading the following contents,
you feel more motivated to receive a medical check-up that includes
heavy metal testing. Independent of the question whether or not heavy
metal intoxication is identified, this will increase your level of
awareness and feelings of safety.
Another important issue is that of prophylaxis and heavy metal
removal. In our modern society, heavy metals and other
environmentally harmful substances are omnipresent. Alarmingly, all
1
basic nutrient wells that facilitate our existence may, too, be
contaminated, i.e. air, water and food. There is virtually no exception.
The question is: how can you protect yourself?
Complete elimination is not possible, but reduction can be achieved.
As most basic measures, without even mentioning any medical
options, we might for instance state healthy food, appropriate amounts
of sleep and stress reduction. For me personally, and because I work
in the profession of dentistry, I am even more endangered by potential
heavy metal contamination. Because of my exposure risk, I check my
heavy metal levels daily.
Water
Water can be 'cleaned' by using a specific filtering system, keeping the
harmful substances adhered to the filter, while we drink and appreciate
the 'cleaner' water.
Additionally, you might use natural products such as vinegar, lemon or
baking powder for cleaning your kitchen, which will help to decrease
cross-contamination into your drinking water.
Air
Breathing – all your life, from the first to the last second – is vital. You
will learn more about how to improve your immediate air quality in this
newsletter.

Heavy metals – wide-spread and latent causes of diseases
These days, toxic contamination is probably the major underlying
cause for chronic diseases. Throughout the past 20 – 30 years,
contamination with inorganic and organic substances toxic to humans
has multiplied. Amongst those of pronounced increase include
aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, palladium and radioactive strontium. The
symptoms have become increasingly blurred and pervasive.
Heavy metals and organic substances found in food and food
packaging, have a hormone 'like' and toxic effect, are possibly the
major causes of cancer, neurological and autoimmune diseases.
Since 2-years, Paracelsus Clinic has been closely cooperating with the
Toxicological Institute of Basel. We are currently the only clinic that can
identify 19 toxic metals within our patients’ urine by applying a highly
specific DMPS detoxification method. Additionally, we are able to
detect heavy metals in other tissues and body fluids, where this
technological access is often not available by other labs. It is these
2
tests that reveal the scope and prevalence of toxic substance
contamination.
For instance, we do know that:




arsenic and aluminum cause human hyperactivity (infant
ADHD), hypersensitivity (nervousness and sleep disorders),
fibromyalgia, etc.;
mercury (found in dental fillings as well as in fish and
crustaceans) is one cause of breast cancer and possibly one
of the main causes for prostatic cancer and numerous
neurological diseases;
Palladium, lead, and tin cause hepatic and mucosal ailments
that are rated as «autoimmune». Apart from colitis, «diffuse»
abdominal cramps and irritable colon, also depression,
premature cerebral aging, etc. are caused by aforementioned.
How many people may have been diagnosed with a
psychological condition, or self-believing to have one, which
actually may be sourced to heavy metal contamination?
Cadmium, copper, and terpenes found in smoke cause lung
and bladder cancer as well as chronic prostatitis and cystitis.
It is actually alarming to see how many people – children and adults –
who suffer from epilepsy. Unfortunately, many of these individuals
have an underlying heavy metal contamination, and are not advised to
holistically decontaminate from their highly toxic dental situation.
Detection of toxic elements existing in the organism is available,
combined with an analysis of protective substances such as highquality lipids and trace elements, is part of EVERY check-up for
chronic diseases and cancer. Advanced biological medicine thoroughly
incorporates toxicology and thus facilitates causal, scientific and costefficient forms of therapy. Numerous diseases can be reversed or at
least significantly improved.

Heavy metals in Dentistry
In the past as well as in present times, dentistry unfortunately made
and makes frequent use of substances containing heavy metals. Many
dental practices still make amalgam fillings. Amalgam is composed by
more than 50% mercury.
This toxic substance is permanently released as vapor and can thus
enter into our organs. There, it deposits until it is sooner or later
present in a harmful dose. This is when heavy metal intoxication
begins.
3
In the very beginning, there will be no adverse symptom(s). However,
and after a while, patients will suffer from various complaints. Most
frequently, these are sleep disorders, fatigue, and reduced
performance capabilities, a lack of concentration as well as
contamination of organs that causes their respectively reduced
functionality.
The alloys used for dental crowns, bridges, and metallic prostheses
also frequently contain other heavy metals such as palladium, indium
and iridium. These heavy metals release their meal ions, which enter
our intestinal tract. They are reabsorbed by the colonic wall and thus
enter our bodily fluids. They are then deposited in various organs until
the dose reaches a level that causes the respective organ’s illness.
Histological examinations reveal that cancerous tissue features heavy
metal contamination that is 200 to 400-fold above normal. Tumor
growth is thus influenced and accelerated.
From a holistic point of view, all heavy metals are toxins and should
thus – applying protective measures and detoxification methods – be
removed. The dentists at Paracelsus Clinic will test your heavy metal
contamination rates and advise you on measures that serve to avoid
the risk of heavy metal intoxication.
Our medical department offers the detoxification treatment required.
Sometimes, detoxification takes a very long time. However, our
experience shows that 90% of all patients recover after therapy.

How to improve the air quality?
Recently, I discovered an interesting and effective air-cleaning
appliance, Goodsphere Systems.
Air purification is based on the natural cleaning power of clear water. It
serves to clear your ambient air from pollutants within just a minimal
amount of time. The bacteria-neutralizing effects have been proven.
The unit is particularly suitable for patients suffering from asthma, hay
fever, and heavy metal contamination. For those suffering from
allergies, nasal or sinuses-related problems, it facilitates ideal sleeping
conditions.
The air-cleaner can furthermore be used for aromatherapy. Just add
your preferred essences and improve your mood and thus physical
well-being.
Since it permanently releases negative ions into the ambient air, the
4
unit also acts as an ionizer. You will thus sleep deeper and improve
your brain’s oxygen supply. You will get up well-rested in the mornings
and start the new day with a motivated attitude.
The air-cleaner can be obtained from our pharmacy or directly at the
dental department (price: CHF 149,- plus postage).

Swiss Referendum on June 17, 2012
On June 17, 2012, the Swiss people will vote on the Managed-Care
bill. As a consequence of the health insurance act’s revision, most
insured parties will no longer able to freely choose their doctor,
hospital, or pharmacy. Those who decide for this option have to pay
significantly more! Instead of 10% patient’s contribution, 15% will fall
due – up to max. CHF 1,000 in addition to the franchise. As another
drawback, insured parties are bound to their contracts for up to 3
years. This new arrangement aspired will promote a two-tier medical
system.
Particularly affected by it are all those suffering from chronic diseases
– including the patients of Paracelsus Clinic. For 20 years, our clinic
has de facto been run as Managed-Care-like institution. Unfortunately,
we can’t be registered as such, since our specialized approach does
not meet the traditional (orthodox) requirements. Our philosophy of
making patients part of their recovery process frequently helps to avoid
cost-intensive specialist subsequent treatment. Our clinic proves the
fact that the new act is not needed. Managed-Care-networks and
practices do already exist. They are god and useful institutions. Any
market-distorting favoring thereof is unnecessary.
We thus recommend voting for «no».

«Biological Medicine» - English book
Three years ago, the German edition of Dr. Rau’s successful
publication «Biologische Medizin: Die Zukunft des natürlichen Heilens
(Biological Medicine: The Future of Natural Healing)» was released. In
the meantime, it was reprinted three times and read by thousands of
people.
Now the book has been translated into English and is available now.
On 548 pages, this profound book provides information on the
biological treatment of numerous chronic diseases. Biological medicine
relies on a perspective that differs significantly from modern Western
orthodox medicine. Each and every symptom has a meaning and a
cause and is regarded as the organism’s response to an inherent
disorder. The author does not only illustrate diagnostics and treatment
methods but also comprehensively addresses possible causes of
disease. Particularly useful is the information on prevention
opportunities and healthy eating.
The book is written in an easily understandable form, which is also
suitable for all those who are not medical experts. Its price CHF 48 plus
postage. It can be ordered from the pharmacy of Paracelsus Klinik
Lustmühle. If you are interested, please mail to:
[email protected]
In Northern America, the book is available from our networking partner
the Marion Institute under http://www.marioninstitute.org/biologicalmedicine-network/store. The book costs US$ 59.95 plus postage.
In other countries, the book can be obtained from your book seller:

Vitamin D
The longest days of the year are now about to come, and along with
them, nature releases all its energy. People speak of the vegetable
zenith – in particular this applies to foliage plants, since these are now
fully loaded with nutrients and should, along with the enduring sunlight,
be used as support in recharging our body with vitamin D.
Humans cannot only ingest vitamin D by consuming food but also
produce it themselves, sufficient sunlight provided.
Vitamin D fulfills the following functions:


it regulates the calcium intake and level. Consequentially,
vitamin D is essential for sound bone regeneration and
density
it supports the deposition of various minerals to promote teeth
and dental enamel
6




it ensures blood coagulation and transmission of neural and
muscle cells, i.e. muscle contraction and relaxation
it is also responsible for hormonal secretion, proper cardiac
function, activation of various enzymes, and thus has a
significant influence on the acid-base balance
it stabilizes the immune system
the formation of multiple sclerosis as well as various forms of
cancer are related to a lack in vitamin D. Vitamin D reduces
the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells and promotes
healthy cell formation
Presence in food
Sources include: salmon, tuna (preferably wild), eggs (preferably freerange), butter and cheese (of grass-fed cattle), mushrooms, artichokes.
After being incorporated from food or formed from sunlight exposure,
vitamin D is transformed to a storage form in the liver. If necessary, our
kidneys can then activate it. Proper renal and hepatic function is
therefore a pre-requisite.
Enjoy the variety that nature can offer us. Maybe you would like to
attend a (wild) herb class?
Please remember: diet is more than just healthy nutrition. It also
includes physical activity – preferably outdoors. For this reason,
“pursue your diet” outdoors for at least 15 minutes a day, by supporting
your bones, teeth, skin, immune system, acid-base balance, heart, and
nerves.
