Page 2 Why they are Endangered
Giant Pandas are endangered because people are breaking the
laws that you
can't hunt
pandas and
they still
hunt pandas.
So there
should be a
punishment
for poaching
and selling
fur and body
parts. They
want their
fur for showing off and they like panda meat. I wonder if people
who are making this destruction and know what they have
caused.
Page 3 Bamboo is getting better
Giant Pandas are helping the earth by spreading bamboo seeds
when the pandas rip the the bamboo out of the ground. Seeds fall
out and spread. A lot of companies use bamboo. So pandas are
helping the bamboo spread. The pandas are helping but these
pandas are helping companies and these companies arent noticing
it and I
think that
people
should
realize
what the
pandas
are doing
for them
they
actually
are
helping us
so we
should try to help them. The Bamboo was also being affected by
climate change so there is a lot of bamboo but it is disappearing.
Page 4 Where these guys live
Giant Pandas live in Asia's and China's Mountains. If you tried to
look for Giant Pandas in the wild you would probably not find
them because they are endangered. The pandas live in the
mountains and
the bamboo
forest where
they can get
plenty to eat. In
the panda's
natural habitat
has natural
disasters such as
earthquakes
booming. It is
also an issue
with climate
change with is cutting down the bamboo population. So this is
major issue for the pandas thats why theres zoos and reserves
that have been destroyed. And Climate change is affecting the
pandas habitat.
Page 5 What they eat
When Giant Pandas are in zoos they eat bamboo, carrots, pears,
biscuits, yams, alfalfa (a type of grass), bermuda hay and apples. In
the wild they eat
only bamboo.
They eat 26
pounds of
bamboo and they
eat it for 12
hours a day.
Sometimes at
zoos for a
pandas birthday
they will make
ice cakes with
incorporate part
of the diet and it will give something new and adventures for the
panda.
Page 6 Animals that aren't so friendly
The Giant Pandas has a lot of predators like Snow Leopards,
Leopards, Jackals and even Weasels sometimes eat panda cubs.
This is important because this is cutting down the panda
population. You might ask why they don't kill those animals that
are
endangered
like the,
Snow
leopard can
not be killed
because it is
endangered
also. So
that is an
issue you
are
probably wondering why the pandas are coming in contact with
the animals in the mountains and the reason is that the pandas
are being pushed to move up there because of natural disasters
and people.
Page 7 Pandas should be in a Reserves
I think that if the Giant Panda is in reserve it will have a more
natural home. The pandas will have a lot of room to play and
reproduce and live
happier and feel like
there in the wild.
There are more
than 50 pandas in
reserves but only
around 61% support
these reserves, by
support these
reserves I mean
care about them and
sponsor them. So I
think that should be
more reserved and that people should try to sponsor them and
protect them. Theses reserves should be recognised and
sponsored and protected.
Page 8 Pandas should be in a Zoos
I think that if the Giant Panda is in a zoo people will care and
realize that they should try to help. And if they come into the
reserve or
the zoo with
an injury they
get care and
if they need
care while
they are
living at the
reserve or
the zoo they
can get it and
stay healthy.
You can see
them in real
life and get to observe them in a safe way. The zoo will make
sure that pandas are safe from the predators. And other threats.
Page 9 What people are doing to help
People are putting Giant Pandas in reserves and zoos. In zoos
and reserves people are helping pandas by giving them immediate
care. By immediate care I mean that if they come into the reserve
or the zoo with an injury they get care and if they need care while
they are living at the reserve or the zoo they can get it. People
are making new projects to help giant pandas like the WWF. So
in conclusion the Giant panda loss is getting better and being
more recognised but it is still an issue in our society because once
there gone we wont have them anymore so we should save them. SAVE GIANT PANDAS Once We Lose Them We Will Never
Have Them Again!
