PLASTIC EXTRUSION
MANUFACTURING TERMS
An EXTRUSION begins with plastic pellets heated and
melted until a stream of plastic can be extruded, or
forced, through a die that creates the basic shape of
the part, or profile. The next step of the manufacturing
process defines the shape of the profile as it cools. The
last step is to cut the profile to the specified length,
creating the part.
CO-EXTRUDED part, similar to the above, is also an
extrusion but with two materials or colors extruded
simultaneously. Our GreatGrabber™ and InfoStrip™
products are representative of this process.
EXTRUDED PART TERMS & PROFILES
ADAPTER: Attaches a card or ticket holder to a shelf or
store fixture.
ADAPTABLE: Describes a card or ticket holder with a
back side that accepts an adapter to allow attachment to
shelving and/or store fixtures.
C-CHANNEL: Easily attaches to shelving, fixtures and
displays to create changeable custom signing.
CARD HOLDER: Presents product and pricing information
in an organized and flexible manner. As a general rule,
the only difference between Card Holders and Ticket
Holders is that
Card Holder inserts are usually larger than 2.5 inches in
height.
CLOSED FACE PART: Protects and encloses the insert or
ticket with clear plastic.
H-CHANNEL: Channel extrusion used as a joining strip
to attach other extrusions or sign inserts to create custom
signage. Generally attaches to fixtures with adhesive.
J-CHANNEL: Presents a ‘finished’ edge in combination
with other extruded elements to create custom POP
signage. Attaches to fixtures with adhesive in most
instances.

LABEL HOLDER: Attaches to shelf edge or wire for
presentation of product and pricing information using
paper or adhesive labels
OPEN FACE PART: Has no plastic material covering the
ticket or insert. Similar to a C-channel design.
PANEL: Defines a larger extrusion generally holding an
insert of more than 10 inches in height. Often used for
larger signs holding message inserts and numeral pads.
TICKET HOLDER: Presents product and pricing
information in an organized and flexible manner.
Similar in all aspects to a Card Holder but Ticket Holders
generally hold inserts less than 2.5 inches in height.
U-CHANNEL: Used for quick and easy fabrication of
custom signage, edge protectors and often combined
with other extruded elements
for POP signage. Most often attached to fixtures with
adhesive.
MATERIALS USED IN PLASTIC EXTRUSION
BUTYRATE is a clear material that allows price and
product information to be easily read. Further, it is
durable and scratch resistant.
STYRENE, also known as High Impact Polystyrene, is
used for color applications. Due to its light weight and
excellent ability to handle daily wear and tear, it is an
excellent choice for larger parts and displays.
PETG blends the transparency of butyrate and the rigid
nature of styrene for stronger clear parts.
POLYCARBONATE produces a clear part that withstands
weather and is heat resistant, making it an excellent
solution for outdoor needs.
VINYL (PVC) is a clear or colored material that can
be rigid or flexible. The parts’ use and location will
determine the type of vinyl needed.

growing dependency on Earth’s resources,
a certain responsibility is shared by us all to
promote a healthier, greener environment for
everyone. Pexco is continually committed
to this cause. Pexco has taken many steps
to accommodate such principals to ensure
sustain ability during daily operations and
the manufacturing process. Materials used
by Pexco plastics, specifically butyrate, are
renewable. Butyrate is a cellulosic which
is the only plastic made from a renewable
source! Butyrate, a cellulosic, is made
from softwood trees that are grown in
tree farms in the United States harvested
under a program of sustainable yield, then
reforested. This program so successfully
represents environmentally responsible
management of our natural resources that
it is reported by the U.S. Department of
Agriculture Forest Service, "the growth
of the softwood tree farms exceeds the
harvesting by more than 33%!" While
being conscious of materials used, we
also maintain a strong focus to decrease
waste produced by these materials.
Our manufacturing process eliminates
waste by reprocessing scrap for reuse.
This eliminates waste and unnecessary
purchasing providing the best outcome for
our environment and each of us. Pexco’s
management and all its employees display
responsibility and share effective ideas to
further enhance the companies’ ability to
assist in making our planet a greener place
to be.

Freight Terms: F.O.B. Factory. Small orders will be shipped via ground parcel services,
freight collect.
Large orders will be shipped using your preferred carrier, freight collect. All other
arrangements must be made at time of order.
Pexco maintains several shipping points determined by product line.
Please request shipping point for proper freight estimation.
Please specify your preferred carrier when ordering.
A street address must be provided as we cannot ship to a PO Box. Pexco cannot be
held responsible for delivery delays once the shipment has left our shipping point.

Claims/Damaged Shipments: We make a focused effort to ship each and every order

Please inspect your order at time of delivery. Damaged shipments are typically the
responsibility of the Freight Carrier. Pexco is not responsible for items once they leave

All eligible returns, regardless of reason,
require a Return Authorization Number.
Please contact Customer Service for further
details. If you are not completely satisfied
with the in-stock items you have received,
simply call within thirty (30) days of receipt
and we will provide replacements or credit
at our sole discretion. Any credit will be
processed only after defective product has
been returned and inspected. All returned
items must be shipped Freight Pre-paid
Shipping charges are not refunded.
A 10% restocking fee (minimum $10) will
