All Lay Servants who have completed the Basic or one of the Advanced Courses will be
consecrated.
This will be a special day of celebration for
yourself, your pastor, your family, your church
family, and your friends. Plan on attending.
Bring a pulpit or choir robe to wear and be recognized by the North Coast District for your
willingness to serve God.

 Complete an Annual report
 Secure their pastor’s recommendation
 Receive Charge Conference or Church
Council approval
Local Lay Speakers
(Basic Course - Youth & Adult)
 Local church lay servants serve
primarily in and through their local
churches.
 With the pastor’s recommendation,
Church Council approval and
completion of study, their work within
the local church is affirmed and
recognized.
 Have first completed the basic course
within the last 3 years.
Certified Lay Servants
(Advanced Course)
 Certified lay speakers may serve in
settings beyond their congregations;
However, they continue to serve in
and relate to their own local churches.
 Candidates must have completed a
Lay Servant Ministries advanced
course within the last three years.
