From The Directors Desk
It is hard to believe that we are already into our third quarter and even harder to believe that our riding season is dwindling faster than I care for.
For many, bikes will be put up for the long winter. But we do have a few who like to brave the elements and ride all year. Blessed are the few!!
As we ride into the fall, remember that the critters are always watching us for that ideal time to jump out in front of our bikes while we are
enjoying the final days of riding, and wet leaves and pine needles can wreck your day too, so be careful out there.
The Chapter is going to busy in the next few months. We are in the process of our new yearly elections and have adopted a new election
process. Our Assistant Director, Treasurer and Secretary will not be running for re election so if you are interested in keeping our Chapter
moving forward please let our Nominating Committee know that you are interested.
We will also have our Fall Party, formally the Harvest Dinner. We will be taking a fall foliage boat ride on the Winnipesaukee Bell on October
24th followed by a luncheon at the Wolfeboro Inn. The activities Committee has worked very hard to find creative ways to give our members
something new and exciting to look forward to and they have not disappointed yet.
It has been an exciting summer and although we will be parking our bikes soon, we will continue to work to make our H.O.G Chapter the best
that it can be. Stay tuned for new changes in Membership and hopefully renewing your own Membership will be easier than ever!!
If you have not been to a Chapter meeting yet, make it a point to join us on the second Sunday of the month. There are always interesting topics
and certainly many members who will be excited to meet you.
See you on the road.
Respectively submitted.

Safety Report
Jason Page, Safety Officer
Greetings Gang,
Once again we have come to the end of the Hot Summer riding weather, and are moving into cooler Fall riding.
Each season has it’s own special safety concerns. Fall is the time when we get to see the wonderful foliage in our
own back yards. However, it is those same leaves that fall onto our roadways and can help create the potential
of an accident.
Leaves can hide the potholes and other dangers on the road. Also, wet leaves are like riding on grease, taking
away your traction. In a corner, it could be deadly.
Frost will soon become part of our morning commute too. Again, a dry road could turn frosty in a shady corner.
A little extra care in the morning will go a long way in having a great ride the rest of the day.
Colder weather can be deceiving as people tend to forget to hydrate. Hydration, year-round is very important to
replace fluids and help us from becoming fatigued. Cold weather can also become a distraction. The days are
becoming shorter and the temperatures are making greater swings. If you are not dressed appropriately, you might
find yourself thinking more about keeping warm than the obstacles ahead. Make sure you have layers with you.
For me, I have mixed feelings about this time of year. This is a time when I have to think about removing my air
seat and installing the heated seat, getting out my chaps, heated gloves, and heated jackets, and face protection. I
check my bike to ensure I have good tire tread and air pressure. The smells are different, cleaner, when the tourist
go away, and my bike, “Eagle” loves the cold air.
If you don’t have heated gear, you might want to check some out at the dealership. Ask them about covers for
your lowers and anything else that will make you more comfortable while extending your riding season.
I hope to see you on a ride soon.
Yours in Safety,
Jason C. Page
(AKA, Ferd)
My passion for motorcycles began at an early age. My dad rode a 1953 Harley
panhead. My mother rode an Indian. I, being the oldest of 3, got to be the first to
ride with them. Through the years my brother, sister and I have all owned Harley’s.
My mother rode her Harley Heratige until the age of 70. My Dad built 3 trikes and
rode into his 70s.
When I met my boyfriend Mike he was a teacher for the Riders Edge Program at
Laconia Harley Davidson. Our common interest was our passion for motorcycles.
Watching Mike teach his classes, seeing the thrill of the students as they graduated
the class, was very exciting to me. I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.
I’ve enjoyed learning to become a certified coach for the Harley Davidson Rider
Academy. Helping people achieve their goals and make their dream of riding motorcycle a reality; is very rewarding.
News from HOG MERCHANDISE TABLE
Our stock is slowly depleting and we thank all who stopped by to purchase shirts, rockers, patches,
glasses, etc. We still have more than enough shirts left and hope to discuss another markdown
on the odd sizes remaining.
We just placed an order for enameled chapter specific pins and I know members will be scooping
those up as soon as they arrive. Considering a few baseball caps for future availability but would
like to hear from our members relative to what you would like to see on the merchandise table.
Trying to keep the merchandise at a controllable level and at that same time trying to provide a
variety of things for members to purchase can be a challenge. We made the Norscot catalog
available for all to browse before the meeting and have started a wish list for some chapter
specific items.
Please realize all chapter specific items have a minimum order requirement and, until we can get
enough interest on one particular item, your request may not be met for a while.
However, if you see other than chapter specific items of interest in the catalog and would like
to have us special order it for you, just let us know and we would be happy to place the order.
Payment must be made prior to the order being placed and you will be charged shipping as
soon as the order arrives.
Think of Christmas gifts for your riding “partner” and friends. Now is the time to place the order to
guarantee shipment before the holiday rush.
