FLAME RETARDANT TEXTILES
All YO2 textiles are permanently flame retardant. For all furnishing and upholstery fabrics YO2 uses high quality yarns made
from polyester FR or Trevira CS. Textiles made out of these fibers contain a built-in safety feature. YO2 textiles offer long-term
protection, unlike fabrics which have been subsequently treated with chemicals. This small but relevant difference results from
the chemical construction of the polyester fiber: the flame retardant properties are firmly enclosed in the fiber. They cannot
be changed by exterior influences.
National and international flame retardancy norms
One is obliged to use flame retardant fabrics in almost all public buildings. These safety regulations, for example, apply to the
public areas of hotels, schools, kindergartens, office buildings, caring homes and cinemas. The fire risk in buildings can be
lowered substantially by these governmentally prescribed measures. Textiles by YO2 fulfill the most important flame retardancy
norms worldwide
DIMOUT
YO2 offers its Dimout quality on unique designs variety. Dimout reduces the usual light transmission from 40 % to only 1 %.
In other words: During the day this wonderful fabric quality produces a pleasant diffuse light. At night it carefully absorbs every
ray of daylight.
BLACKOUT (Comet)
Blackouts have a darkening effect of 100%. These fabrics do not allow any light rays to get through. The soft acrylic coating
on the back ensures this. The coating of the YO2 Blackout is particularly soft so that the fabric keeps its elegant drape. Our
Comet Blackout quality is free of DecaBDE (Decabromdiphenylether).
HARDWEARING UPHOLSTERY FABRIC 80000+ (Gavi)
These days the commercial sector requires robust upholstery fabrics that will be able to withstand the extreme usage they are
exposed to in public areas. Combining robustness and quality of design is a must for such areas. Gavi by YO2 offers a suitable
textile solution for heavily used areas an upholstery fabric which offer an abrasion value according to Martindale of at least
80.000. It is thus extremely resistant against wear and tear and will let you enjoy your furniture for a long time. Gavi upholstery
fabric of 80.000+ re-convincing hardwearing upholstery fabrics with design appeal is made of 100% Trevira CS.
SAFE & CLEAN (Garda)
Unrivaled in cleanliness and easy maintenance. Bacteria, dirt and moisture don’t stand a chance with this patented innovative
system. A vast array of combination possibilities is offered with beautiful designs on a superior fabric quality. In hotels and
restaurants textiles create an especially relaxing atmosphere by reducing noise and spreading warmth and comfort. Stains
caused by intensive use or the remains of food can easily be removed from Garda upholstery fabrics, even many days afterwards.
Ideal for healthcare: Garda upholstery fabric is resistant to bacteria, urine and moisture. Due to these properties, Garda stand
for long-lasting spotless upholstery. Garda combines functionality with a high quality design: Beautiful designs and impeccable
quality fabrics offer a wide range of combinations between upholstery and decorative fabrics.
They are the solution for long-lasting stainless upholstery. Each individual fiber is enclosed by a protective sheath, replacing
the commonly used “shallow” surface coating found in other fabrics. The special layer on the reverse side prevents the
penetration of moisture and wetness. This innovative technology provides lasting protection against impurities and dirt, and
is easy to clean.

Cleaning instructions for Garda:

Treat spillages immediately.
Brush away overlying residues (e.g. food leftovers) with a soft bristle brush or cloth.
In the case of already dried stains, dampen with approx.
30 °C warm water and add a few drops of liquid detergent to the soiled area.
After a short soaking period, firmly brush or rub the affected area. Repeat two or three time if necessary.
Finally, rinse the affected area off with luke warm water and rub the surface dry with a cotton cloth.
SOUND ABSORPTION (Dimout Prelude Gavi)
Acoustics is the teaching of sound and the way it spreads. Modern architecture which consists more and more of material
such as glass, concrete and steel and which uses less and less textiles causes an increase in harassment by sound. Noise level
and work efficiency are closely related. If the acoustics are not well balanced a person’s efficiency suffers. The specific use
of sound reducing materials such as shears and curtain fabrics is decisive for the noise levels in a room. YO2 reacts to this
changes with the innovative fabrics who absorb sound. YO2 fabrics are certificated sound-absorbing according to
DIN EN ISO 11654 at the highly absorbing quality category C.
Acoustic measures
The flow resistance is the force with which a matter opposes a movement. The specific flow resistance Rs is measured. The
value is shown in Pa*s/m or Ns/m3. A good flow resistance value starts at 800Pa*s/m.
Sound absorption describes the reduction of sound energy especially (but not necessarily) by turning sound into heat or
movement. “Absorption” equates to “swallowing” and “soaking”. The sound produced in a room spreads as an airborne
sound wave and meets room boundary surfaces, which partially absorb the sound and partially reflect it.
The sound absorption grade aw describes the ability of a matter to absorb sound

aw = 1 = 100% complete sound absorption, no reflection
aw = 0 = 0% no sound absorption (which means complete sound reflection)
ideally one achieves a value of 60% / aw = 0,6
the measurement takes place in a sound room according to DIN EN ISO 354
one measures the reverberation time with and without the fabric sample in order to determine the absorption grade
evaluation process: according to DIN EN ISO 11654

Digital Printing
The printing technology allows the creation of vibrant colors, precise contours and distinct contrasts. Special dyes
are heated at a temperature of 200°C and turn into a gas, which permeates the fabric and then solidifies into its
fibers. The typical properties of contract fabric; flame-retardancy, washability, light-fastness and durability, remain
fulfilled.
