Introductions All present members introduced themselves and the organization they represent. 2. Approval of Minutes – February December 8, 2017 Minutes approved from February 8th 3. Ole Points and CCLOs for Graduate Students A. Dan Morgan Ariela introduced CCLO’s and how they can apply to graduate students even though they were orginally created for undergrads. Dan Morgan shared more about the Ole program- platform that sits ontop of learning outcomes for students. What incentives would grads look for with this Ole program? Business school has a passport program already; however, could this be something that is open to all graduates. This could be something that the new cabinet could move forward on next year. Include contact information to allow students to send in their thoughts. 4. Board of Trustees Check-ins - See email from Amy 5. GSC Statement - See email from Amy 6. Committee/point person for writing a statement - See email from Amy 7. MAIR Budget Proposal Geralyn - Masters of Arts International Relations GSA came before the council to propose their event funding request. When requests are over $500 they must be voted upon by the council. Each of the school organizations has one vote when determining funding approvals or denials. You can approve in full, partially fund, or deny requests. Although the event is to help MAIR fund raise for their organization, all potential funding received from the GSC will be to directly impact the planning and execution of this community event open to all graduate and law students. Please look at the request form attached below thoroughly to make the most informed decision. “Date/Time of Event: March 31, 2017 / 3PM. Event Title: Murder N’ Mayhem Mystery Fundraising Event Description: Expected Graduate and Law Student Attendance: 120 Murder N’ Mayhem Mystery is an entertaining approach to engage graduate and law students at the University of San Diego to build and maintain a stronger USD graduate student community, and to promote Graduate Students Associations around the University. The funds raised are going to be used to improve the MAIR Graduate Students Association causes, and will also be used to meet with students’ needs at the university and in the program in the future. Amount requested from GSC: $ 1,500 The fund will be used to pay $150 for the organizer who will be handling the logistics the day of the event, i.e. distributing the characters, explaining the dynamic of the game, and everything directly related to the structure of it. $500 will be used in offering food, snacks, and beverages for 120 members of USD community. $200 will cover the expenses for decorations, props, and other auxiliaries that will help the event draw more attention and be more successful. $418.25 will be the cost for 35 main characters ($11.95 per person), and $425 for 85 supplemental characters ($5 per person).” 8.
