Brunei Darussalam is one of only a few countries in the region which claims English as an official second language. Most Bruneians speak English and it is used throughout the educa on system from Primary, through Secondary and on to University educa on where the language on‐campus is English. FIELD TRIPS On field trips you’ll have opportunity to learn about Brunei’s culture and you’ll experience its unique lifestyle. Proboscis monkey Long‐nosed monkey na ve to Borneo You are likely to see monkeys, bu erflies, a variety of birds and, if you’re lucky, you’ll see the endangered hornbill and perhaps the famous big‐nosed proboscis monkey. Visit local restaurants and try the local cuisine. Enjoy the famous Bruneian Kway Teow. Try Ambuyat; it’s a real treat. Sample the local sweets. All the while you’ll be speaking English. You’ll visit the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, take a boat ride or walk through the water village and trek through the jungle.
