Uploading Blog Posts to Content Delivered Client Portal: This process provides you with step-­‐by-­‐step instructions on uploading the blog content to the client portal for our Content Delivered customers. This process should be completed every time you receive an email notification from Caroline indicating there is new Content Delivered Blog Posts that need to be uploaded to the Client Portal. The steps outlined below need to be completed within 24-­‐hours of receiving the email notification 1. When there is new blog content that needs to be uploaded a Zendesk ticket will be assigned to you with the subject line “Upload attached blogs to Content Delivered Portal” 2. When you receive the notification that this ticket has been assigned to you, complete the steps below 3. You’ll need to remotely access the Mac computer to complete the rest of the steps in this process a. Navigate your browser to https://www.gotomypc.com and log in with the following credentials: i. UN: [email protected] ii. PW: Everpass1234 4. Once you’re logged in, click the “Connect” button displayed to the right of the “Kutenda Two’s iMac” 5. Enter the access code provided below: a. kutenda123 i. You may have to try the access cod with a capital “K” if the all lowercase code doesn’t work 6. Once you successfully enter the access code a window will popup allowing you to remotely access the Mac computer a. Make sure to remain in that window so you complete the rest of the process on the Mac computer you are remotely accessing b. GET MY BLOG AUTOMATOR THINGY ON THE BIG MAC AND ADD THE SPECIFIC FILE PATH FOR IT SO THE AUTOMATOR ACTUALLY WORKS 7. Navigate your browser to Zendesk and log into your Zendesk account and access the ticket 8. In the ticket, download the attached zipped folders containing the blog content for the 2 blog posts 9. Click on the link to the “Blog – Mac Automator” Google doc provided in the Zendesk ticket a. This will open the Google spreadsheet in a new tab in your browser 10. Once you’re in the “Blog – Mac Automator” Google spreadsheet, find the row directly below the last row containing content in the “Blog Post Topic” column 11. Enter the file name of the first folder attached to the Zendesk ticket into the “Blog Post Topic” column a. Example: If one of the folders attached to the ticket file name was “Emails Look Terrible on Mobile – spun.zip”, you would enter “Emails Look Terrible on Mobile” into column A on the “Blog – Mac Automator” Google spreadsheet for the first blank row you located 12. Navigate back to the Zendesk ticket and get the file name for the other folder attached to the ticket 13. Navigate back to the Google spreadsheet and enter the name into column A, in the row directly under the one you just entered the first folders file name in 14. Click on the “Finder” icon in the doc 15. Click on “Downloads” in the left-­‐hand navigation of the finder window 16. Find the 2 zipped folders you just downloaded from the Zendesk ticket a. Sort by “Date Modified” so the most recent files are at the top so you can easily locate the folders you just downloaded 17. Double-­‐click on the zipped folder for the first folder you downloaded and entered into the Google spreadsheet a. When you double-­‐click this folder, the unzipped version will be downloaded displayed above the zipped folder 18. Click on the arrow to the left of the unzipped folders file name a. This will allow the files and subfolders to be displayed 19. Find the subfolder with the matching name of the folder 20. Right-­‐click on that subfolder and select “Copy” a. Make sure you have selected the correct folder to copy. MUST be the subfolder with the same name, not the parent folder 21. Click on the “Desktop” link in the left-­‐hand navigation of the finder window 22. Locate the “Content Delivered Blog” folder on the desktop SCREENSHOT 23. Right-­‐click on the “Content Delivered Blog” folder and select “Paste Item” a. This will paste the folder you copied form the downloads to this folder on the desktop 24. Click on the arrow to the left of the “Content Delivered Blog” folder’s title to check and make sure the folder you copied was pasted 25. If you see the folder you copied displayed under the “Content Delivered Blog” folder after clicking the arrow, move to step #27 26. If you do not see the folder you copied displayed under the “Content Delivered Blog” folder when you click the arrow, repeat steps #18 – 25 until you have successfully copied the folder into this one 27. Click on the “Downloads” link in the left-­‐hand navigation of the finder window to be brought back to the downloads page 28. Find the zipped folder for the second blog you downloaded from the Zendesk ticket and added to the Google spreadsheet 29. Double-­‐click on the folder to unzip it and repeat steps #18 – 26 for this folder a. Once both of the folders have been copied over to the “Content Delivered Blog” folder on the desktop, move onto the next step 30. In the “Content Delivered Blog” folder on the desktop, find the folder for the first one you copied over a. This should be the blog that you entered the name for first on the Google spreadsheet 31. Click the arrow to the left of that folders name so the contents of the folder are displayed a. There should be 250 text files in the folder 32. Click on the first text file located in that folder so it is highlighted 33. Scroll down and find the last text file in that folder (article250.txt) 34. Hold down your “shift” key on your keyboard and while keeping the shift key pressed, click on the “article250.txt” file a. This should highlight all 250 text files in that folder 35. Once all the text files in that folder are highlighted, scroll back up to the top of the finder window (being careful where you click so you do not lose the selection of all your text files) 36. Grab all of the text files and drag them to the “Spun Renamer” folder found in the “Content Delivered Blog” folder a. This will move the 250 text files from the folder you copied over into the “spun Renamer” folder 37. Once the text files are moved over to the “Spun Renamer” folder, find the “NAME OF AUTOMATOR” workflow in the “Content Delivered Blog” folder SCREENSHOT 38. Double-­‐click on the file to open it a. This will open the workflow in the Mac Automator program 39. Navigate back to the “Blog – Mac Automator” Google spreadsheet and copy the number in the “5 Digit Number” column for the first blog you entered a. Make sure you are copying the number for the folder you just completed the above steps for. It is of the upmost importance that these get kept straight – check that the name in the “Blog Post Topic” column on the Google spreadsheet matches the folder name for what you’re completing these steps for 40. Navigate back to the automator and scroll to the “Make Sequential” section 41. Paste the 5 digit number you copied from the Google spreadsheet into the “new name” field under the “Make Sequential” section 42. Navigate back to the “Blog – Mac Automator” Google spreadsheet and copy the number from the “4 Digit number” column a. Making sure you’re copying the number from the same row you copied the 5 digit number from in the last step from 43. Navigate back to the automator and paste the 4 digit number you copied from the Google spreadsheet into the “Add” field under the “Add Text” section 44. Once you’ve entered both the 5 digit and 4 digit numbers copied from the “Blog – Mac Automator” Google spreadsheet, click “Run” at the top-­‐right corner of the automator window a. This is going to add the 5 digit number to the beginning of the file name and the 4 digit number to the end of the file name for all 250 text files you moved into the “Spun Renamer” folder 45. Once the workflow has been successfully completed, navigate back to the “Spun Renamer” folder 46. Click on the arrow to the left of the “Spun Renamer” folder so all the contents are displayed a. You should see all of the text files you moved to that folder now renamed following the naming convention explained in step #44a 47. Click on the first text file displayed in the spun renamer folder 48. Scroll down to the last text file in the “Spun Renamer” folder – while holding down you “Shift” key on your keyboard, click on the last text file so all 250 are highlighted 49. Drag these files back into the folder you originally moved them from 50. Once the files are moved out of the “Spun Renmaer” folder and back into the original folder you dragged them from, repeat the steps #30 – 59 BUT this time using all of the information for the second folder a. You must make sure when you are repeating the steps for the second folder that you are keeping the 5 digit and 4 digit numbers straight – make sure you are entering the numbers that are listed on the Google spreadsheet 51. Once you have completed the steps above for both folders and the text files for each blog have the unique 5 digit and 4 digit code added to the front and back of the file name, open the FireFox browser (if you are not already using FireFox to access the Internet) 52. Once you have FireFox opened, click on “Tools>>S3 Organizer” from the top navigation menu a. This will open Amazon S3 in the FireFox window 53. On the right-­‐hand side of the two paned page, find the “Content Delivered” folder in S3 54. Double click on the “Content Delivered” folder to be brought into it 55. Once you’re in that folder, click on the “blog” folder 56. When you are in the blog folder in S3, click on the folder icon with asterisks to create a new folder/directory 57. Navigate back to the “Blog – Mac Automator” Google spreadsheet and write down the 5 digit number for the first blog you entered on the sheet a. You should write down the 5 digit number for the second blog as well because you will need that number in just a minute 58. Navigate back to S3 in FireFox and enter the 5 digit number you noted from the spreadsheet in the “Folder Name” field 59. Once you’ve entered the 5 digit number for the first blog and checked that it is correct, click “Ok” to create the new folder 60. Repeat steps #56 – 59 for the second blog 61. Once you have successfully created 2 folders, each named at the 5 digit number from the Google spreadsheet, find the folder for the FIRST blog you created a. For example: If you created a folder named “15161” you would look for that folder and locate it on the right-­‐hand side of S3 62. Once you have located the folder for the first blog on the right-­‐hand side of the screen, double click on it so you are brought into the folder in S3 63. On the left-­‐hand side of the screen, click on the “Browse” button 64. A window will pop up asking you to select a folder, click on the “Desktop” folder 65. Remain on the left-­‐hand side of the screen and scroll down to find the “Content Delivered Blog” folder on the desktop a. Double-­‐click on the folder when you locate it 66. Find the folder for the first blog and double-­‐click on it a. For this example we will use the “Home Page Sins” blog which had the 5 digit number “32520” associated with it on the “Blog – Mac Automator” Google spreadsheet 67. Once you have double-­‐clicked to enter the folder for the blog, you will see all 250 text files that you dragged into the folder earlier in the process 68. Click on the first file at the top of the list 69. Making sure to keep the file at the top of the list selected, scroll down to the bottom of the list and while holding down your “Shift” key on your keyboard, click on the last file at the bottom of the list so that all of the text files are highlighted 70. Check to make sure you’re in the folder on the right side of the screen that correlates with the leading 5 digit numbers of the text doc file names a. The folder on the right should be empty as shown in the screenshot below 71. Click on the blue arrow pointing to the right to upload the text docs to the folder you created 72. Select “Upload” from the menu that appears a. The files will process and then begin to upload b. You can check to make sure they are processing by looking in the bottom-­‐left corner where the progress will be displayed c. They will begin to upload which you will see when the window at the bottom of the screen populates with the files and the status 73. Once the files have all been uploaded they will appear in the folder on the right-­‐hand side of the main window 74. Click on the folder icon pointed out in the screenshot below to be brought up one directory, back to the list of folders: 75. Locate the folder you just uploaded the text files to 76. Right-­‐click on the folder and select “Edit ACL” 77. A popup window will be displayed, click on the red X in first row under the “Read” column 78. Click on the box to select “Apply to subfolders” and check to make sure your screen looks exactly like the screenshot below: 79. If it does, click “Ok” 80. In the left hand corner you should see the “Current Tasks” section populate with text indicating that the ACL is being set 81. To check that the ACL was properly set, double click into the folder on the right-­‐hand side of the main screen to be brought back into that folder 82. Randomly select one of the text files and right-­‐click on it 83. Select the option “Copy URL to clipboard” 84. Open a new tab in your browser and paste the URL into the browser’s menu bar, click “Enter” 85. If you receive the error shown below, navigate back to the tab with S3 opened and repeat steps #74 – 85 until you see a page that looks similar to the example in step #XX 86. If the web page looks like the screen shot below, move forward with the rest of the process 87. Repeat steps #61 – 86, but this time for the second blog 88. Once you have successfully uploaded the text files for each of the blogs into their correlating folders and checked that the ACL was properly set, navigate your browser to http://www.localincomelab.com/members/cdupload/bp/ and log in with the credentials below: a. UN: cmcnally b. PW: Everpass345 i. If that does not work, try Everpass123 89. Navigate back to the “Blog – Mac Automator” Google spreadsheet and find the date listed in the “Date” column for the blogs you just completed the above steps for 90. Navigate back to the blog upload page you opened in step #88 It is incredibly important to complete the next steps very carefully. Please make sure you are entering the right information into the correlating fields 91. Click on the calendar icon and select the date from step #89 92. In the “Directory Name Blog 1” field, enter the 5 digit number for the first blog 93. In the “Name Blog 1” field, enter the name from the “Blog Post Topic” column for the first blog 94. In the “Directory Name Blog 2” field, enter the 5 digit number for the second blog 95. In the “Name Blog 2” field, enter the name from the “Blog Post Topic” column for the second blog 96. In the “Front 5 Numbers Blog 1” field, enter the 5 digit number for the first blog 97. In the “Back 4 Numbers Blog 1” field, enter the 4 digit number for the first blog 98. In the “Front 5 Numbers Blog 2” field, enter the 5 digit number for the second blog 99. In the “Back 4 Numbers Blog 2” field, enter the 4 digit number for the second blog 100.
Once you’ve made sure the information is entered correctly, click “Submit” 101.
Wait for the screen to refresh and scroll down to the bottom of the blog upload page to the “Blog Post Reporting” section and check to make sure that the blog topics have populated in the columns for the post date you selected in step #91 a. The report will only display 3 weeks total (last week – current week – upcoming week) i. If you’ve uploaded blog posts for longer than a week out, it will not show up on the report until Sunday at 12 AM EST ii. Sometimes the upcoming week will display twice, that is okay 102.
