1. TYPE OF COMPETITION
This is an open Regional Roller Skating Championship sanctioned by USA Roller Sports, the National Governing
Body as designated by the U.S. Olympic Committee. Sanction #17-157.

4. FLOOR DESCRIPTIONS
The skating surface is 78’x180’ plastic coated beechwood.
5. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY FEES

6. FILLING OUT APPLICATIONS/AMATEUR CARDS
Please fill out the master entry sheets and events sheets completely and legibly. Contestant’s names cannot
be printed properly in the program book if we cannot read them! Please check everything carefully.
When registering, skaters must use their name as it appears on their membership card (NO NICKNAMES). The
regional association has been instructed by USA Roller Sports to return the entire club’s entry if any
information or signatures are missing on the Master Entry Sheets.
SPLIT CLUB TEAMS: Each team member should be listed on his/her own club’s Master Entry Sheet. The team
should then be listed on the event sheets of both clubs, with the club name written in next to the contestant’s
name.
Every USA Roller Sports representative who co-signs an application shall answer to the National Board of
Directors for any skater who has been entered through his or her club and who skates an event he/she is not
qualified to skate.
AMATEUR CARDS: Contestant’s names must be listed on the master list provided on USA Roller Sports
website. If a name is not listed the skater will not be allowed to compete. This list will be checked and an
email sent to the club representative if a skater does not have a card and is listed on the master entry form.
One Day Cards will not be available and Temporary cards will NOT be accepted.
7. APPLICATION DEADLINES
Master entry sheets must be sent together in one package. One check or money order made out to Northeast
USA Roller Sports covering total entry fees will expedite processing. Please mail applications and checks to:

9. AWARDS
All first, second, and third place winners will receive official USA Roller Sports regional medallions. Any club
who has received a Northeast Region Challenge Trophy or Plaque during any previous regional championship
must return them to Ron A Roll Skating Center prior to the start of the 2017 Championships.
If they are not returned, the club that did not return the award will not receive any other challenge awards
until the awards that are missing are returned. Any club not returning an award will be assessed $200 to
replace the award.
10. PRESENTATION OF AWARDS
Awards will be presented shortly following the final events with the exception of the figure awards, which will
be presented at the end of the figure portion each day’s events. All contestants receiving awards must be in
full costume with skates on during the awards ceremony.
11. DRESS REQUIREMENTS
Stringent dress requirements have been adopted by USA Roller Sports and are outlined in the Figure Skating
Rule Book. These guidelines will be strictly enforced. Please become familiar with them.
12. CONTESTANT CHECK-IN
Skaters or their official representative must be ready to check-in (when the check-in announcement is made)
up to one hour prior to scheduled starting time of their event. With the exception of the first morning or
evening events, skaters must be in costume and ready to skate one hour early.
13. MUSIC CHECK-IN
Please note the requirements for Singles, Pairs, Free dance and Solo Creative Free dance events: All recorded
musical programs furnished by figure skating (artistic) contestants must henceforth use CD player format. All
competitor CD disks must be labeled with the contestant’s name, division, and club ID number. CD recordings
are to contain only one selection per unit, with the musical selection to begin approximately three (3) seconds
following the start of the disc. It is the responsibility of the coaches or skaters to pick up the music after the
elimination and final events. The meet director and host operator are not responsible for CDs left after the
event has been skated. For further information please read AR10.12.
14. DANCE MUSIC
All organ dance music will either be live or be provided by CD. Senior World Class, Junior World Class Dance
and Solo Dance & Youth International Solo and Elementary International Solo Dance will skate to orchestrated
music also on CD.

16. PRIVATE PRACTICE
Any art club that would like private practice at Ron A Roll Skating Center should contact Jennifer Conde at
860-872-8400 (press 9 to bypass automated message system) or email at [email protected]. Charge
for practice is $150 per hour.
17. COACHES
As per USA Roller Sports, coaches will be cross referenced with the membership list provided by the USA
Roller Sports. If you are not on the list you will be charged admission and not allowed on the floor to coach.
Coaches, it is your responsibility to make sure your credentials are up to date. Only Registered Coaches will be
allowed on the skating surface during any of the events.
18. REFEREES AND FIGURE STEWARDS
If your club has commissioned officials who would be interested in officiating as referees or stewards at the
championships, please notify Tom Beebe @ [email protected]. Include name, membership card number,
commissions held and events being skated.
19. FOOD AND BEVERAGES
Complete restaurant services will be available at Ron-A-Roll Skating Center. No food or beverages from
outside the rink are to be brought into the building.
20. GOLD MEDAL TEST CENTER
The RSA National office has granted us permission to run a Gold Medal Test Center immediately following the
2017 Northeast Regional Artistic Figure Skating Championship to be held on June 26th, 2017 at Ron A Roll
Skating Center.
Any coach having skaters wishing to take a test should email Tom Beebe at [email protected] with a list of
candidates. You will need to make out 7 copies of the test form along with the test fees. The Gold Medal test
fee is $22 per test. In addition to the RSA test fee, a $20.00 surcharge to cover judge’s expenses must be
included. Deadline is May 30, 2017.
21. PROGRAM ADVERTISEMENTS
If you wish to place an advertisement in the Official Northeast Regional Championship Program, the rates are
listed below. All ads must be COPY READY and emailed as an attachment to Tom Beebe
([email protected]). All ads must be accompanied by payment in full in order to be included in the
program. Checks should be made out to NEUSARS and mailed to Tom Beebe.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Skaters may enter the events in which they are eligible to compete for the 2017 skating year. All skaters may
challenge up one level, but are not allowed to cross over into the standard USARS events at the Regional
Championships.
When an event becomes a final without elimination, the elimination requirements will be skated. All events
with 9 or less skaters registered will be skated as a final event.
All skaters must have a valid 2017 amateur card on file at the National Office.
