Dear lovers of Japanese craft and design, and all good craft and design, Hope you had a great holiday season. We are very happy to say that, Discover Japan Paris will present products from “Tokyo Teshigoto”, 21st – 23rd January 2017! Tokyo Teshigoto is a project to convey to Japan, and the world, the quality and skill of traditional Tokyo craftspeople. The craft masters, or 'Takumi' have been practicing their skills for hundreds of years in old quarters of the world's largest conurbation. The Tokyo Teshigoto project aims to reconnect the modern city, with the aesthetics and quality of its 'Edo' past. The former city of Edo (present day Tokyo) was known for ideas in design such as 'iki' and 'inase' and the seams of crafts that flow to the present include exceptional skill, and a recurring theme of everyday, functional, beauty. The beautiful handcrafted series of products from Brushes, Knives to Cutting Glasses and Indigo Scarfs will be presented and available for purchasing at wholesale price. Please come and have a look! - DATE: 21 (Sat) – 23 (Mon) January 2017 - OPENING HOURS: 12:00 – 20:00 - VENUE: Discover Japan Paris: 12 rue ste-anne, Paris, France - PRODUCTS: Brushes, Watering Cans, Knives & Scissors, Indigo Scarfs, Lucky Cats, Edokiriko, Tenugui, etc. Tokyo Teshigoto will also return to Ambiente in Frankfurt this February.
