PURPOSE: This activity will show the children that even when a large group of people is all doing the
wrong thing, we should still resist.
DESCRIPTION: The children will play a game of blob tag.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
You will need this Help Sheet.
TO INTRODUCE THE ACTIVITY SAY:
1. Let’s say our Main Point together. I Will Not Let Others Make Me Do What Is Wrong!
2. Sometimes it can seem like everyone is joining a giant mob of people doing the wrong thing.
3. Today we will play a game of blob tag to remind you of what that feels like.
For detailed instructions on how to lead the activity, see the Small Group Leader DVD.
Note: It may help the game to combine all your small groups and play this game as one large group game.
DURING THE ACTIVITY SAY:
1. In blob tag, everyone starts out alone except two people who are holding hands.
2. The people holding hands are It and if they tag you, you must hold one of their hands and become
part of The Blob Mob.
3. The last person to be tagged is the winner.
AFTER THE ACTIVITY SAY:
1. When you were running away from The Blob Mob, you knew that even though more people were
joining the blob, the right thing for you to do was run away.
2. It wouldn’t have made sense to join in the blob because everyone was over there.
3. It’s the same in life, when other people are doing something wrong, you shouldn’t join them just
because everyone else is doing wrong.

4. You didn’t have a choice in this game to join The Blob Mob or not, but in life, no one can force us to do
something wrong, no matter how many other people are doing it.
5. In our Bible Lesson, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stood up for what was right even when
everyone else gave in and we can follow their example even when mobs of people want us to join
them in doing wrong.
CLOSING STATEMENT:
Even when it seems like everyone around us is giving in and doing wrong things, we don’t have to join
them. We can choose to stand up for what is right, even if we are the only ones.
