3 DAY OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION (OBE) WORKSHOP AT AIMST UNIVERSITY
A three-day Outcome Based Education (OBE) workshop was held from the 20th February till 22nd
February 2017. A total of 86 academic and support staff attended the workshop. Our trainer was none
other than Tuan Haji Nazdri (PSMB Certified Trainer from UiTM) who has conducted a series of training
on this same approach at our university.
Day 1 training was on iCGPA. Our facilitator took us right from the basic to the advanced level to furnish
us with complete information to integrate iCGPA into our teaching and learning system.
iCGPA is the latest add-on to our OBE. Our Malaysian Education Blueprint 2015 – 2025 has listed 10
shifts which aim at developing holistic, entrepreneurial and balanced graduates. Such graduates
would have relevant disciplinary knowledge and skills, ethics and morality along with the appropriate
mindsets, behaviors, cultural and civilizational literacy to advance them to a high level of personal well
being, and enable them to contribute to the harmony and betterment of the family, society, nation, and
global community. iCGPA is an integrated mechanism for assessing and reporting of students’
development and performance as well as learning gains of their ethics, knowledge and abilities. AIMST
University is moving forward to address the needs of the nation.

Day 2 and 3- all Faculties and School met up with the facilitator at the allocated individual slots to
present their progress on implementation of OBE. Tuan Haji Nazdri shared from his vast experience in
the field to ensure the sessions were fruitful for all the participants.
Our teaching force is now working hard to adopt Outcome Based Education (OBE) approach and
integrate it into our teaching and learning system effective from September 2017 Semester. This again
is another milestone for AIMST University. Thanks to our QA Division for organizing this workshop.
