JANUARY 2010 God’s timing The eight years in getting the bus may seemed to have whizzed past, but the last eighty days since the bus has been on the road has seemed to have gone so slowly! Modern life demands us to have things done yesterday. But looking at the history of God’s people gives us some perspective – the ark, with only a few lads, must have taken a while to build, 40 years in the wilderness must have seemed a long time and “with the Lord a day is like a 1000 years and a 1000 years are like a day”. We, as a project and as individuals, need to be reminded of God’s perfect timing and sovereignty in all things. A project is in its early stages of development, needs to be patient and seek God’s timing, building solid foundations. Points for praise and thanks to God - Charlotte Doddrell, despite the cold, has finished her Stairwell art work and it looks great. - Our initial church tour has resulted in a possible 40 people volunteering to help staff the bus in the near future. - Wrangle churches, Fishtoft Church, Boston Baptist, Friskney Church, Kirton churches and Frieston Church have shown an interest in starting bus teams. The Baptist Church and Wrangle Church, and Friskney Church have started their training. - Supporters are currently donating regularly 56 tickets a month (target by September this year is 100 per month) and we have received 87% of funds needed for our first 3 years and have received many wonderful donations large and small from generous supporters. Prayer requests • Pray for the young people we will meet this year in schools and on the road. For wisdom to earn their respect and find appropriate ways to minister to each young person. • For Boston Baptist (South Boston), Wrangle, Fishtoft and Friskney as they start their bus team training. • For the first visits in February in South Boston and Wrangle. • For 2010 that we are able to support 5 local schools by the end of this year and have 5 bus teams up and running by Easter. • The bus has been in sub-zero temperatures for over a month now and has struggled with excessive condensation. Pray that we might find a garage to accommodate the bus in future years temporarily when the weather is really bad. • Pray for Directors of LYM as they seek to serve the local churches in our area. • Pray for our Steering Group as their role changes from building a bus, to running a bus ministry.
