Experience the picturesque scenery between Melbourne and
Adelaide on board The Overland, the Indian Pacific to Sydney
and the majestic Blue Mountains, before joining the XPT from
Sydney back to Melbourne.
DAY 1: TUE OR SAT

The Overland to Adelaide
Board The Overland in Red Service this morning at
Southern Cross Station and enjoy the scenery as the
train heads west passing The Grampians enroute to
the South Australian border. On arrival at the Adelaide
Parklands Terminal, make your way to the Mercure
Grosvenor Hotel, your base for the next 3 nights.
Adelaide
With a whole day free, you can relax and explore
charming Adelaide! Festivals and food. Arts and
culture. Shopping and sport. This is Adelaide – the
Australian city where there is always something on.
DAY 4: FRI OR TUE
Indian Pacific to Broken Hill
Join the mighty Indian Pacific in Adelaide and enjoy
a delicious lunch on your way to the historic mining
town of Broken Hill. There is enough time here for
a Whistle Stop Tour† before you re-board the train
and watch as the sun sets over the Gateway to the
Outback. (L,D)
DAY 2: WED OR SUN
Adelaide
Adelaide is a cosmopolitan blend of European and
Modern architecture, and is renowned for its great
food, wine and relaxed unwinding lifestyle. This
morning city sights tour is an ideal introduction to
the Adelaide way of life. Highlights include: Victoria
Square, River Torrens, Colonel Light’s Lookout,
Zoological and Botanical Gardens, Adelaide Cricket
Ground, Haigh’s Chocolates (not available on
Sundays), Glenelg Beach Precinct, the Central Market
and North Terrace Cricket Drive.

Discover vibrant Sydney at your own pace with a hop
on – hop off day pass. This open top double decker
bus offers you the chance to stay on board for a 90
minute tour of the city sights, or hop on – hop off
all day. Board the XPT in the evening and enjoy the
comfort of your First Class Sleeper cabin as you make
your way south through the NSW Riverina before
crossing the Victorian border.
DAY 7: MON OR FRI
The XPT to Melbourne
Your package concludes upon your early morning
arrival into Melbourne. (B)
DAY 5: SAT OR WED
Indian Pacific to Sydney
Enjoy breakfast on board whilst admiring the
majestic Blue Mountains as they slide past your
window. Say a final farewell to your fellow guests,
and make your way to the Mercure Hotel Sydney for
your overnight stay. (B)
