Infant Cross Country
Wow! Well done to our
infants who took part in
the cross country running
at Wadebridge Primary
School on Tuesday.
All of them completed the
course and there were
some amazing personal
performances too.
Thank you to Mrs Grubb
and Miss Dickson for organising and transporting.
Earthquakes
As part of their ‘Earthquake’ topic, Year 5 have made their
own structures out of cocktail sticks and mini marshmallows and tested them on a ’jelly’ earthquake to find out
which shapes make the strongest structures. They have
also made their own seismographs.
A seismograph, or seismometer, is an instrument used to
detect and record earthquakes.
Generally, it
consists of a
mass attached
to a fixed base.
During an
earthquake,
the base
moves and
the mass does
not.

The Reception Class Visit the Garden Centre
To support their learning about the topic of ‘Growth’, the Reception Class visited Trevisker Garden Centre yesterday. They each planted a sunflower seed, enjoyed exploring the poly tunnels and found out about flowers in the
floristry. Thank you to Trevisker Garden Centre for a lovely morning.

We received this message on our Facebook page from one of our
Year 1 parents:
As the weather gets warmer and drier, we will be making plans
for all the children to spend more time learning outdoors and
making the most of our stunning surroundings.

Under the Sea
As part of their topic on ‘Coasts’ Year 1, in collaboration with the Lobster Hatchery, will be performing an ‘Under
the Sea’ dance at the Hall for Cornwall (date to be confirmed). Some of our Year 1 parents have offered to help
make their costumes but we are in need of shiny, shimmery, sparkly materials. Sea colours are particularly welcome. Many thanks.
