All of them completed the course and there were some amazing personal performances too. Thank you to Mrs Grubb and Miss Dickson for organising and transporting. Earthquakes As part of their ‘Earthquake’ topic, Year 5 have made their own structures out of cocktail sticks and mini marshmallows and tested them on a ’jelly’ earthquake to find out which shapes make the strongest structures. They have also made their own seismographs. A seismograph, or seismometer, is an instrument used to detect and record earthquakes. Generally, it consists of a mass attached to a fixed base. During an earthquake, the base moves and the mass does not. Class Photos Tempest will be coming in to school on Friday 6th May to take class photos. The Reception Class Visit the Garden Centre To support their learning about the topic of ‘Growth’, the Reception Class visited Trevisker Garden Centre yesterday. They each planted a sunflower seed, enjoyed exploring the poly tunnels and found out about flowers in the floristry. Thank you to Trevisker Garden Centre for a lovely morning.
