Henry Kissinger Served under Presidents Nixon and Ford 1973-1977. Prior to becoming Secretary of State, Dr. Kissinger served as National Security Advisor under President Nixon and pioneered the policy of detente with the Soviet Union. As a part of this strategy, he negotiated the Strategic Arms Limitations Talks, which resulted in the SALT I Treaty and the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. Dr. Kissinger was awarded the 1973 Nobel Peace Prize along with Le Due Tho for their work in negotiating the ceasefire contained in the Paris Peace Accords. 4 t present, Dr. Kissinger is Chairman of Kissinger Associates, Inc. , an international consulting firm . Sec. James Baker III Served under President Bush 1989-1992. Sec. Baker has served in senior government positions under three Presidents. In 1975, he was Under Secretary of Commerce for President Ford and was Treasury Secretary to President Reagan from 1985 to 1988. Currently, Sec. Baker is a Senior Partner in the law firm of Baker Botts. He also serves as Honoran; Chairman for the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University and is on the board of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Additionally, Sec. Baker serves with Sec. Christopher on the Natior1al War Powers Commission. Sec. Warren Christopher Served under President Clinton 1993-1997. Sec. Christopher began govern ment service in the Supreme Court as law clerk to Ju stice William 0 . Douglas in 1949. From 1967 to 1969, Sec. Christopher served as Deputy Attorney General of the United States and, from 1977 to 1981 , as Deputy U.S. Secretary of State. Since 1950, in between periods of public service, Sec. Christopher has practiced law with the firm O'Melveny and Myers. He became the firm 's Senior Partner in 1997. He is currently Co-chairman of the Pacific Council of International Policy, Co-chair of the National War Powers Commission, In structor of the UCLA Undergraduate Honors Program and a member of the Los Angeles Civic Alliance. Sec. Madeleine Albright Served under President Clinton 1997-2001 . Dr. Albright was the first female Secretary of State and became, at that time, the highest ranking woman in the history of the U.S. government. From 1993 to 1997, Dr. Albright served as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations and as a member of President Clinton's Cabir1et. She currently serves on the boards of a wide variety of organizations and is a Principal of The Albright Group LLC, a global strateg~; fi rm, and Chair and Principal of Albright Capital Management LLC. Sec. Colin Powell Served under President Bush 2001-2005. He also served 35 years in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of Four-Star General and serving as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1989 to 1993. Currently, Gen. Powell is a strategic limited partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, serves on the Board of Directors of Revolution Health Care and is Founder of the Colin Powell Center for Policy Studies at City College of New York. Gen. Powell is also working on raising funds fo r the Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial in Washington, D.C., and for the construction of an edu cation center fo r the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Prior to that Mr. Smith spent 20 years as a national and foreign correspondent and editor with The New York Times and 13 years with CBS News.
