Sections 1-5&8 will pay maximum of £15.00 for as many entries as required.

Confined Solo Piping Contest
Held under The RSPBA Contest Rules, subject to the Branch Rules.
1. Confined to registered members of the North of Scotland Branch RSPBA.
2.Competition Sections.
Section 1 – 12 years & Under - Chanter – 2 parts March Tempo.
Chanter competitors must not be able to play the bagpipes.
Section 2 – 13 years & Under - 2 parts Slow Air & 4 parts March Tempo.
If you are 13 or under ( on the day of the competition) you can also play in Sec,3,4&5.
Section 3 – 15 years & Under - 2 parts Slow Air & 4 parts 2/4 March Tempo.
If you are 15 or under (on the day of the competition) you can also play in Sec 4&5
Section 4 – 17 years & Under - March, Strathspey & Reel. Min 4 parts each.
If you are 17 or under (on the day of the competition) you can also play in Sec 5.
Section 5 - 17 years & Under - Hornpipe & Jig. Min. 4 parts each.
If you are 17 or under ( on the day of the competition) you can also play in Sec 4
Section 6 – 18 years & Over - March, Strathspey & Reel. Min 4 parts each.
Section 7 – 18 years & Over - Hornpipe & Jig. Min 4 parts each
Section 8 – 15 years & Under - Piobaireachd. Ground & 1st Variation.
Section 9 – Open - Piobaireachd up to 15 mins inc. tuning-up.
3. Age will be that attained on the day of contest.
4. All pipers to get 2 minutes tuning-up time on the contest floor. Only competitors in Section
2,3,4 and 5 are allowed a tutor on to tune their instrument.
5. Printed off Entry Forms along with all monies to be with the Branch Secretary by closing
date (Closing date and time here)
6.Late entries will not be accepted.
7. Bands will have a Band Representative, who will be responsible for their Solo players
being ready to compete on time and ensure compliance with any Accommodation/ Local
Education Rules of Let. As per AGM 2009, each Band will be given a time to play. Arrival at
the designated area, Hall or classroom shall be for each Band to arrive at their allocated
time.
8. All trophies from last year’s competition MUST be returned by the 30th September 2016 to
the Trophy Convener, Mr Bill Grant, Loanhead Cottage, Rayne, Insch AB52 6XS or by
mutual arrangement through contacting him by telephone on 07929346626 or by email at

Unfortunately, failure to do so would mean that any antry will be excluded from the actual draw.
