The Junior Council
Person Program
The Junior Council Person (JCP) Program is an
outstanding opportunity to get the youth of the boroughs to participate in the governing process of
their own communities. The Jefferson Borough
Council would like to extend an invitation to any
local Junior or Senior High School Student(s) that
would like the opportunity to learn first hand the
governing process. Any student who would like to
participate should write a letter of interest to the
borough council. Questions may be directed to
the borough office.
A special thanks goes out to the JEFFERSON VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY for their ongoing service to our
community and a job well done. In order for them to
maintain and continue to offer our community with
emergency services, it is necessary for them to rely on
our donations and support. Please make a contribution to your fire company and help the Jefferson Fire
Company to continue to serve our community. If you
have any question please call the fire hall at 717-2292643. Contributions may be sent to:
P.O. Box 3, Codorus, PA 17311.

JEFFERSON BOROUGH SQUARE UPDATE...
We continue to await the finishing of details for our cannon and World War I gun. Some of the items yet to complete are
the small fencing to surround the cement platforms and work on the plaques to acknowledge those who donated to bring
the cannon project to fruition. Planning for the plaque for the Borough Square and indoor posting at the borough building, continue as we try to find the proper manner to demonstrate our appreciation to those who have funded this endeavor. We are gratefully accepting contributions. Call the Borough Office for details. We are also selling commemorative wooden coins to help fund our 150th anniversary celebration in 2016. Each set can be purchased for $2.00 or three
sets for $5.00. The coins may be purchased at Peoples Bank, Baugher Motors or the Jefferson Borough Office. The best part
of living in Jefferson Borough is being an active member of the community. More opportunities await as we move toward
2016.

Refuse Collection
Penn Waste is now accepting cartons as a part of the recycling. Cartons are defined as a type of packaging that food and beverage
products come in that you can purchase at the store. Cartons come in two forms—shelf-stable and refrigerated. Shelf-stable cartons contain food and beverage products such as soy milk, soup, broth and wine. Refrigerated cartons contain food and beverage
products such as milk, orange juice, cream, egg substitutes and any other type of product that would need to be kept cold. Here
are some tips to ensure that your cartons are ready to be placed in your recycling bin:
♦ Remove any caps or straws
♦ Make sure the carton is empty
