In order to attend Renaissance, incoming 9th graders must have a RIT score on the 8th grade spring MAP of 212 in Reading and 222 in Math and must be ready to take High School Math Common Core 1 (or higher) and Honors English 9 during their 9th grade year. Incoming 10th and 11th graders must be on grade level (or higher) in Math and English. All students must also sign an agreement to fulfill the schools’ rigorous curriculum. If students do not meet these criteria (or do not have sufficient credits to be placed in the grade level to which they applied) and are drawn in the lottery, they will be contacted by a Renaissance counselor in the spring and may be required to take summer school to demonstrate proficiency should they wish to attend RHS. Online applications must be completed by 11:59 pm on February 7, 2014 to be considered on time. Paper applications must be submitted directly to Renaissance by 3:30 pm on February 7, 2014 to the site to which I am applying to be considered on time. If more applications are submitted than there are seats available at a given grade level, then a random, computer- generated lottery will be held to determine placement. Applying does not ensure placement to a Renaissance. Priority within the lottery is given first to on time applicants in this order: a) Siblings of currently enrolled students (who will also attend in 2014 – 15) living within the district boundaries b) New applicants living in the district boundaries c) Siblings of currently enrolled students (who will also attend in 2014 – 15) living outside of the district boundaries d) New applicants living outside of the district boundaries ALL late applications are considered after on time applications and in the order they are received (regardless of boundary or sibling status). The lottery will be held on Friday, February 21st at 9 a.m., and I will be notified via mail and/or email of lottery results. Once notified, I need to respond by the date provided in the letter to either enroll my student(s) or reject placement. If I do not respond by the date provided, I may forfeit my seat to an applicant on the wait list If I accept placement, my students’ records will be transferred to Renaissance. I understand the statements above. Parent/Guardian Initials I verify that I am the applicants' legal guardian and that we live at the address provided above (with the applicant residing in this household at least 50% of the time). I understand that if my student(s) is/are placed, then I will be required to submit valid proof of current (within 30 days) residency. I further understand that placement is contingent on valid proof of current (within 30 days) residency and that any priority placement given may be lost should I fail to provide it.
