Background
“We’re enhancing the thrill of
fishing by providing a means to
explore what’s happening
underwater through technology”
GoFish Cam’s CEO, Ryan Austin, came
up with the concept in Trinidad while
travelling with friends. While sailing on a
catamaran in the Caribbean Sea, a few
locals were fishing off the back. Being
a fishing enthusiast his whole life, Ryan
watched. With excitement, they had a
huge bite and everyone jumped out from
their seats. Unfortunately, the fish got off
the hook and the locals started to debate if they should go back. That’s when
Ryan thought – well what if they could
see underwater using technology? That’s
when he had his “ah ha” moment. After
months of research GoFish Cam was
later born.

captures underwater video and other information

RYAN AUSTIN
FOUNDER
Throughout his career, Ryan has founded several
other start-ups from a young age. A great believer
that if you’re lucky enough to be successful, you have
a re­sponsibility to give back, Ryan’s interest lies in
help­ing others – his main driving force for succeeding
in business. He has been fortunate enough to have
great mentors guiding him throughout his career and
in­tends to pay it forward by helping others.
After spend­ing two years at York University and one
year at The University of Western Ontario, Ryan left
University to pursue his dreams. Recently, Ryan
graduated from The Next Founders program which
provided 50-65 hours of masters-level education
taught by award winning fac­ulty from schools
including Harvard Business School, MIT and Ivey.
BRANDON AUSTIN
CO-FOUNDER
Brandon Austin is a charismatic young-professional
who sees challenges as opportunities to learn.
Brandon has had previous experience with startups
and has taken on roles developing new business and
developing sales leads for technology companies.
Brandon is studying communications and business
and is in his final year at Carleton University.
Brandon plays a big role in the day-day of the
business and will be leading sales and assisting in
setting the overall business strategy.

When can I purchase a GoFish Cam?
GoFish Cam is expected to be released for sale through
our Kickstarter campaign at the end of June. In addition,
it can be purchased on our website: GoFishCam.com.

What is the cost of a GoFish Cam?
We are planning to set GoFish Cam suggested retail
price of $149.99 U.S. Be sure to check out our Kickstarter
campaign early for savings.
Does the camera record sound?
Yes! The GoFish Cam has a built in microphone to make
sure that the entire experience is captured underwater.
Can I record in the dark?
Yes! GoFish Cam has been designed with a green lightemitting diode (LED) ring around the camera lens. It also
has infrared to capture your image in the darkest of water
and for night fishing.
What do I do if my line snaps and the camera
falls off?
We want to make sure you have the best experience
while fishing! Keep to these suggestions and you
should be in the clear: Place your GoFish Cam on two
wire leaders on the main line. Generally, if your line
breaks it tends to take place near the lure, so with this
suggestion, your success rate to retrieving your camera
is higher. Double check that you’ve tied the right knots
before casting out your line.
How do I get started?
Upon receiving your GoFish Cam, make sure to read the
manual and register your camera on the mobile application. Instructions are easy: Download the app, enter
your product key code and follow the steps accordingly.
Where can I share my videos?
GoFish Cam’s mobile application will allow users to share
videos through most major social media channels – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. If you notice we’re missing
one, let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate!
Can I see my videos on my phone?
How does GoFish Cam remain waterproof?
We’ve designed the GoFish Cam to be extra durable and
water resistant. It has been tested to work to 300ft.
Absolutely! GoFish Cam has developed a mobile application to work with your Smartphone. It works alongside
the camera wirelessly. We encourage users to view, edit,
and share footage.
