RIGHT BRAIN BUSINESS BLUEPRINT CHECKLIST OK so now you’ve decided that you are more of a Right Brain – Creative Thinker. Let me throw another idea at you! Did you know you have three ‘brains’? 1 – Your gut or intuition brain - the solar plexus is the biggest brain of the body – your gut instinct 2 – Your heart or emotional brain - the medium sized brain of the body is the heart brain speaks in the language of feelings and emotions 3 – Your head or logical brain - the smallest part of our brain is the logic. As humans we have been conditioned to believe our third brain is the most important brain but in fact, I believe in running an entrepreneurial business that this could be wrong. Think of a decision or major task or project you want to undertake in your business at the moment. Now just sit for a moment with your largest brain – your gut and intuition as you think of that task or project. Soak up the feeling you get in your gut – notice how that intuitive feeling feels. Now imagine as you sit with the intuition brain, just trust what it gives you, then as you breathe in and exhale allow that feeling to pass up throughout your heart. Take a moment to allow that project or task to now fill your heart, listen to how that feels and any insights that gives you. The sensation you are now feeling is the truth of whatever that is. Now allow yourself to exhale it all out and as you do notice that you have the capacity to understand it with your third and smallest brain in your head. You may start to have thoughts bubble to the surface now. Just allow them and if you feel the need to capture them, write them down. Good! When it comes to money and business planning it is common to get all three of these brains mixed up. Consider the following questions for a moment: Have you been building your business around an emotional attachment you have? Are you going with where the money is flowing? Are you using your head and your logic only? Are you allowing yourself to be swayed and waver to wherever your heart takes you? It is not unusual for our medium and smaller brains of the head and heart to be the loudest in business. And yes sometimes you need to go with the financially viable side and options in designing your business blueprint and just make the bespoke and heartfelt side the lesser portion. Above all else I encourage you to consider the big brain – your gut – instead of just listening to the wisdom of the head and heart, start tapping in and listening to the knowing of your gut feelings. ACTIVITY Step 1 - Take 2 sheets of paper. Write down the benefits on each side and then the income you are currently getting from there in $ or as a %. Head Options/Strategies Heart Options/Strategies Benefits Benefits Current Income Current Income Consider on each side also: How easy is it to get clients? What income am I making? Is it harder for me to fit into this side? Which side is more financially viable for my business right now? If the head/logical side is not necessarily where you saw your business going that’s OK. : Step 2 - Sleep on it or go for a walk and then come back and ask: What does your gut tell you? Blend logic with your heart and your gut for best results.
