Introduction to Stan Chung
Vice-President, Academic & Research, Red River College
It was unfortunate that the weather once again
conspired against us and our meeting on 20 February
was sparsely attended.
Those who managed to make the meeting were
treated to an excellent presentation by Stan Chung,
Vice-President, Academic and Research, Red River
College followed by a question and answer period.
Stan gave a very progressive and exciting vision for
the future of Red River College including the
proposed new building that will take the College into
the next decade.
Role of the Vice-President, Academic and
Research
Stan and his team are proud of Red River College’s
ability to empower innovation and growth through
career-based advanced learning in applied settings.
As Vice President Academic and Research, Stan leads
five academic Deans, Director of Research and
Commercialization, and Facilitator of Recognition of
Prior Learning. Stan also chairs Senior Academic
Committee which oversees the College’s academic
programs. Red River College of Applied Arts and
Technology is Manitoba’s first choice for polytechnic
education.
March Speaker
Peggy Pendergast, President of Creative
Retirement Wpg. Inc. will be speaking about
their organization and its various activities
designed to promote the health and wellbeing of Manitoba Retirees. Come and learn
about the many opportunities they offer.
Vice-President, Academic & Research
Stan Chung
Stan Sae-Hoon Chung joined Red River College in
2012 because of its reputation as a global leader

To Blog or not to Blog, that is the question?
It has been suggested that in addition to the
paper newsletter the Heritage Group produce
a blog.
Staff Golf Tournament: June 3, 2014
What is a blog you say? If you already have a
computer you may already be aware of blogs
where you can read about family events and
groups that you may be interested in. Today
blogs abound and a couple of really good
examples are:
1. (http://blogs.rrc.ca/goingplaces/)
2. (http://blogs.rrc.ca/wellness/)
A couple of the many at RRC.
You may also wish to do some research, using
the internet, on blogs in general. There are also
numerous books on the subject of writing
them.
The big advantage for HG members is that it
would be an ongoing up-to-date source of
news and ease of response to suggestions such
as this.
Please respond, by email, letter or phone call
to the suggestion by answering the following:
a) Yes - I think having a Heritage Group
blog would be great.
b) No - I am not interested in viewing a
Heritage Group blog.
