Event Name & Special Activities
The Alvinston Firefighters will be providing their traditional
pancake and sausage meals at the Alvinston Community
Centre, just a 5 minute drive from the Conservation Area.
Visitors to the Festival will be able to travel into the past and
see how maple syrup was produced by Native Canadians
and early pioneers. Demonstrations of modern syrup
production will also be highlighted.

around an 1899 farmstead, guided tours with costumed
interpreters, pancake house, candy shanty, maple syrup

Tour - Visit 7 local farms, Set-ups range from a homemade
evaporator processing sap from 35 taps for personal
consumption, all the way up to Miners' Maple Syrup Products
with 6200 taps on a vacuum system and using reverse
osmosis. Producers are on hand to answer questions, and
sometimes to sell their product. Meet along the way including
elk, sheep, and highland cattle to name a few.
