Trade Show Executive’s
Guide to
Convention and Exposition Venues
Dear friends and colleagues,
On behalf of over 230 facilities in nine countries, welcome to SMG’s 2014 Convention Center
Directory. We couldn’t be more proud of the newest members of the SMG family, including the
magnificent Pennsylvania Convention Center, the brand new Cleveland Convention Center and
Global Center for Health Innovation, and South Bend’s Century Center. Hopefully, this past year
has treated you and your organization well, too. With our current portfolio of 15 million square
feet of prime space, ranging from landmark venues in Chicago, Detroit and San Francisco, to
resort destinations and regional drive markets, there is still no simpler way to commence the site
selection process with the most respected ‘brand’ in facility management.
We continue to support our industry partner organizations in the trade and consumer show
sector, with an evergreen presence at IAEE, NACS, SISO and numerous others. We hope that you
will seek us out at our SMGworld Pavilions where you can easily discuss new launches or future
year rotations with our sales executives that can easily connect you through our electronic lead
distribution system called “SITEPAS”. This program is aimed at helping you secure rates, dates
and space at any or all of our facilities within a matter of days, if not hours. So many of your
colleagues have found this to be their best vehicle for venue shopping. Where appropriate,
we will immediately engage our destination marketing partners to ensure that all aspects of your
destination experience are handled seamlessly.
As always, please consider this your open invitation to call me personally if I can help you
advance your organization’s interests with the fine family of SMG managed convention and event
venues. By the same token, each of our 200 sales executives is available equally on a property
level, or as an extension of our national sales efforts.
I look forward to working with you, and to seeing you at a future industry function.
With best regards,
Gregg Caren
