Residential French Language Courses
at
The France Show 2013 The France Show
This year’s The France Show’ was held for three
days from 18 – 20 January at London’s Earls
Court 2. The show is a must for any
Francophile, bringing together the many
aspects of France and its culture under one
roof. Visitors to the show will find a whole
range of exhibitors from property agents, food,
wine and language learning. The many visitors
to the show, around 12,000, spent the day
wandering around the indoor market, visiting
various seminars and demonstrations.
Le Poiron at The France Show
We were very pleased to attend the show once
again and to meet everyone who came to our
stand. The many enquiries we had were varied
and interesting. Some visitors were studying
French already and were looking for something to
help them move onto the next level. Others have
property in France and would like to be able to
socialise with their neighbours. We were very
pleased to discuss the details of our residential
courses and how they can help students to
improve. We understand that participating in a
residential course can seem daunting to some
people. So we hope that we reassured you and
gave you a good insight into the Le Poiron
experience.
Welcome
Thank you to everyone that booked with us
during and since the show. We look
forward to welcoming you to Le Poiron
very soon
Thank You
Thank you to our past and present pupils
for your support and help. We were
extremely lucky to have full time help on
the stand from past students. Their
contribution was invaluable as they were
able to tell visitors to our stand about our
course from first hand experience We
really appreciate your support and
enthusiasm.
Seminar
Each year Françoise, our tutor, gives a
seminar in the language theatre. The
theme for this year was
‘ Tune your ears to French sounds’ –
An insight into phonèmes with
Françoise Duffell.
Have you studied French for several years
but cannot understand or better ’hear the
French news or join in a conversation?
Understand and hear the sounds that
make the language and unlock the
language within yourself.
Françoise spent time giving a lesson on
this topic which is such an important part
of the language. She was ably assisted by
Curtis and Howard, past pupils, who told
the audience about their experiences while
learning French and about the time they
spent with us.
And finally- The Cancan
Each day and in true French style the air was filled with the
music that can only mean one thing…..
