In this Homework Journal you will be completing activities to earn points - points mean prizes! Each week, you have to choose one activity from the boxes below. You work hard at home and then reveal your beautifully presented piece of homework to your teacher by Friday. It will then be checked to see if the standard is worth the points! At the end of the half term, there will be a class presentation for the top 5 highest scorers. GOOD LUCK! 2 POINTS Make a list of objects that we use now that the Romans used, and a list of objects they used but we don’t. Create a Roman timeline. Draw/paint a picture of something from the Roman times (e.g. a Roman banquet, chariot racing) Write a caption to go with it. Write a secret message in Roman numerals (with an alphabet key) Create a door name label using the Roman alphabet. Name a Roman Emperor and write 5 interesting facts about them. 5 POINTS 8 POINTS Make a 3D model of an item in Roman times. Write a food diary for one day if you were a member of a roman household, do the same for a British person during the same time period. What do you notice? Find a Roman recipe. Create it and take a photo. Write out the recipe in case other would like to have a go! Design a job advert for someone to work as a servant in a Roman Villa. Write your own Roman poem. REMEMBER your use of similes! Create a math worksheet for Roman children using Roman numerals. Imagine you are a member of a Roman leaders household, write a letter home to family. Create a poster advertising a Roman museum collection. Write a short newspaper report announcing the invasion of Britain (Are you a Roman or British newspaper?) REMEMBER - reported speech! Write a diary entry from one in a British Village which gets taken over by the Romans or from someone working in a Roman Villa in Britain. Dress up as someone from the Roman times - have your photo taken and take a picture. Design a Roman maze using reflective symmetry. Create an outdoor game for Roman children to play. 10 POINTS Write a report on Caesar’s Invasion Get someone to pretend they were a Roman military leader (or you could be this person), conduct an interview. Write out the questions and answers. Write a story with a Roman theme, maybe something linked to an object? REMEMBER to use paragraphs! Research and learn a Roman song or dance. Find as many countries as possible that the Romans invaded. Draw their flags and write a sentence to go with each. Make a 3D model of a Roman villa. Make some Roman armour. Write a Roman play - may be video You can create your own ideas for projects - please discuss these with your teacher to decide on how many points they are worth!
