Tilli and Taps discover the World

Tilli and Taps discover the World
The day that Tilli and Taps first saw the light of day was a very special
one. The sun was shining bright and there was not a cloud to be seen for
miles. The ever-cheerful Lukas Quill was sitting at his desk going about
his favourite pastime of drawing. He was soon going to be a dad and was
really looking forward to the birth of his child, and of course, he was determined to be the world’s best dad.
As he sat at his desk, Lukas slowly drifted off into a daydream… He
dreamt of himself as a little boy, and who was there in his little arms:
Tilli the Rabbit and Taps the Bear. Tilli’s floppy ears were firmly guarded
in his little hands as Taps lovingly looked on through his dark devoted
bear’s eyes. They were the best friends in the world when he needed
someone to look after him, share a secret with or cry his heart out to!
Bang! All of a sudden a door slammed downstairs and Lukas was snapped out of his daydreams. He thought about Tilli and Taps, and had to
smile as he suddenly had an idea: He quickly put his thoughts on paper,
a little carefully at first, but soon he had drawn a face, and it did not
take long for the cuddly tummy and arms to follow. He finished off the
drawing with some little round feet and soon had a little rabbit with
huge floppy ears and a stumpy tail squinting at him through big round
eyes. It was none other than his childhood friend Tilli the Rabbit! Tilli
was quickly joined by a cute little bear, his beloved Taps!
So he continued drawing and there was soon also a
lush fruit tree, a wonderfully colourful meadow
and a brilliant blue lake. A colourful rubber ball
bounced across the landscape and some soft
cotton wool clouds lay on the horizon waiting to
be blown away by the next breeze.
Soon a couple of hours had passed and Lukas noticed that he had
drawn an entire story. He had almost forgotten to do the shopping for the
weekend. He quickly grabbed his jacket off the back of the chair, switched off the light over his desk and left the house. Tilli and Taps looked
at each other in the story full of bewilderment and said, “Where’s he
off to?”
Two little noses poked over the edge of the drawing to get a peak of
what was happening in the room. Tilli was surprised to see that her left
ear was sticking out over the edge of the page and into the room. When
Taps noticed this, he tried to do the same and… sure enough, he too succeeded and soon managed to climb out of the story and onto the desk,
where Tilli and Taps soon found themselves standing opposite one another.
In all their excitement, they had failed to notice that some of the colourful pictures had followed them into Lukas´ world. “Your ear has dots,”
said Taps with a big wide grin. “And your foot is striped,” replied Tilli.
They both had to laugh and so the adventure began…
They gathered up all of their courage and leapt down from the desk to
the chair and then from the chair to the floor. Their hearts were racing
with excitement as they stood on the threshold of the study and Taps
was secretly relieved when Tiliy slipped her soft hand into his.
There was a delightful scent in the air and they tiptoed through the
house as their upturned noses led them into the kitchen. There was so
much to see in the kitchen: a little kitchen table, two shaky chairs and
a blue cooking pot on the stove. Their untameable curiosity led our little
friends to the nearest table leg. How are we going to get
up there they asked themselves as they stared up.
They had almost given up when Tilli noticed Lukas’
mobile phone on the edge of the table and the
cable of the charger dangling down almost to the
floor.Taps was quite astonished when Tilli hopped up
to the cable and slowly climbed up to the table. Once
there, she waved him up. So he too climbed up and
when he had finally made it to the top, they were
thrilled as they looked at each other with their big round eyes. There
was a bowl on the table full of colourfully wrapped sweets, a large cup
that was giving off a nice cosy aroma and a jar full of sugar.
Fascinated by the sparkle of the crystals in the sunlight, Tilli approached the sugar. For a second, she even forgot about Taps. She popped
her head over the edge of the sugar jar and found him next to the
large cup. He waved her over and showed her a brown velvety stain next
to his feet. In all the excitement, he ended up stepping in it and soon also
had a brown stain on his paw.
The sun was already starting to go down and only now did the two adventurers realize how tired they actually were. It was time for them to
go home and they were starting to miss their beautiful flowery meadow
and the lake. A nice relaxing nap under the fruit tree was just what
they needed. They carefully slid back down the cable and made their
way back home taking the cable with them.
It was late when Lukas came home and when he switched on the light in
the kitchen, he was surprised to see the sugar spread all over the table. That was strange he thought as he entered the study and proudly
looked at the story he had drawn earlier. “That’s strange,” he thought
again, he could neither remember drawing the sweet in the rabbit’s
hand, nor the brown stain on the bear’s paw. Lukas yawned as he slumped into his chair and was again surprised to find that he was sitting on
his charger. It was probably time to go to sleep before any other strange
things started happening to him he thought.
